I’m working on a Panetti Replicating Missile character (I like that skill I seriously do) but right now I see my damage going down. I’m at level 60 and we are playing as a team.
My friend is running a Occultist/Shaman he did max Curse/Vulnerability and Blood of Dreeg so I knew Occultist would be useless for me as the skill I do need he was gonna provide it to me.
I decided to go Demolitionist (might have been my mistake?)
I’m now wondering how I should modify him so that it work recently I got my hand on all 3 piece of Eastern Pledge so considering they are giving me about 15 points for TSS I added it to the rotation…It help for sure but the devotion are more and more of a pain to work around.
I’m wondering if (without Decree of Aldritch which I don’t own) how should I turn my devotion around
Fire/Aether and use the top Exclusive Skill with Devastation Maxed (My main idea cause PRM got 2 modifier with Aether damage)
Cold/Lightning and use the bottom Exclusive Skill with more point invested in TSS
Which case would give out the best result? And for that case how should I build toward my Devotion?
Both of these routes are good and viable but have different natures. PRM is a reliable, steady flow of AoE damage but suffers when targeting single powerful enemies. This can be compensated for with devastation. TSS is a much heftier punch, but has a cooldown and some randomness in the distribution of the shards. If you went Sorcerer (arc/dem) then I would recommend the first, as your demo abilities make you a natural pick for fire/aether. TSS is better supported by shaman in my experience.
Alright well yeah I did pick up Demolitionist so my first idea was Fire/Aether with Devastation.
Without the conversion from Decree of Aldritch how the hell do you end up doing the Devotion? I’m trying some stuff (did try Flame of Torrent skill I think yesterday…well it is centred on myself so it is totally useless) I have skill to proc (As of right now PRM - Flashbang - TSS - Devastation - Haunt are all offensive spell that I could attach Celestial power to them) but I’m clearly lacking an how-to make it work.
Honestly that part of the game leave me completely lost lol
I’d say go for defensive devotions. Sorcerers are fairly squishy so taking health boosts and healing effects plus resists and damage absorption are really helpful. In the end, your missile will be roughly 50/50 with a slight lean towards aether damage but also with an electrocute DoT, so there’s no 1 solution to offensive devotions unless you do some converting. For defensive you should look at dryad, chariot, and behemoth for heals and then anything that gives health, resists, or damage reduction such as tortoise or crab.
If you’re set on offensive devotions, I’d probably split between the aether line and the elemental line. Getting some mix of crown, owl, scholar, lantern, behemoth, wraith, imp, widow, chariot, and then probably sage for fire and lightning only would give you a good balance of offense and some healing mixed in.
This is where I mention how it is hard to understand the whole stuff about Devotion. Said like that it seems so “easy” bunch of name for devotion that means absolutely nothing for me. At least with those name I will be able to look through some website to understand what is doing what and how to reach which point. Still thanks for some heads-up it will help my research.
One interesting route (which a friend of mine took with a Sorcerer Pannetti’s) is to go completely defensive with devotions. I mean he went the extra defensive mile - Turtle, Tree of Life, Light of Empyrion, Dryad, Behemoth. He basically only had the Imp’s Aetherfire on his main attack (Pannetti’s).
Then he stacked “of Scorched Ends” items like mad. This is an affix that has a chance to cast Fireball on attack, and which can spawn on most items (each with independent cooldowns). The result has got to be one most colorful and spammy builds I know and which does excellent single target damage.
This is obviously one of the build that I did look toward. Without the 100% Aether Conversion from dual Decree it ain’t as potent and since I started in December and only have a single character level 85 (completed 4 run of Port as of right now) I obviously don’t have 1 even less 2 Dual Decree so unsure how the actual Devotion translate without the conversion.
I still find PRM a pretty weak skill, because of the mixed damage types and for the amount of points it costs, it doesn’t do enough damage to be competitive.
And you also have to deal with the energy issues.
The PRM build I had the most success with was by leaving the 1st and 3rd skill at one base point and just focusing on Aether.
Using most of Clairvoyant’s set you can convert Chaos damage to Aether, and use Agrivix relic in close range to add to your damage.
And then some other procs like Aethereach and Aetherfire devotion to boost it further.
I also used a shield so you could fight in close range better, along with Mirror.
In short, it’s just another proc-based build because PRM itself doesn’t cut it.
The above build was able to beat Gladiator but it doesn’t do it as easily as some of the stronger caster builds.
^ Well, if you can get your hands on a couple Decrees, maybe that will improve that build past a “proc” build. If you’re already focusing on Aether, that should help.

You can bind it to Thermite Mines to some bigger success. Flames goes around mines then.
