I’m looking for a list of anything that gives a passive (damaging) aura, because I want to see how far I can push a passive damage build when the expansion is out (because inquisitor).
I know there aren’t much, and so far I got the following:
[ul]
[li]Night’s Chill (Nightblade skill)[/li]
[li]Aura of Censure (Inquisitor ultimate skill)[/li]
[li]Shard of Asterkarn (one-handed dagger)[/li]
[li]Whirling Blades (Seal of Blades component: weapons, shields and caster off-hands)[/li]
[li]Horns of Ekket’Zul (helm)[/li]
[li]Rune armor of Ignaffar (armor)[/li]
[/ul][updated with items suggested in thread]
Does anyone know any more items and/or skills that deal passive damage? Anything that doesn’t deal damage but debuffs enemies (e.g. slower movement speed or reduced resistance) passively is also cool.
Don’t the +% damage increases those auras provide also provide that to the other auras they’ve mentioned? Or potentially other auras/passive skills not yet presented.
So while these don’t do damage themselves, they do increase the damage of other passive skills. Seems like a good thing to know.
Indeed, I am looking for skills that deal damage passively (like Night’s Chill).
You’re absolutely right, they do increase the damage. However, I believe that flat damage is the most important thing to look / plan for first; +% damage modifiers are a lot easier to find
The thing is, I can’t think of a way to look up items that have a ‘grants skill’ that are passive damage / debuff aura’s, because they don’t have a special description. Deathchill grants a skill that adds to weapon damage, while Shard of Asterkarn grants a skill that deals passive damage. The only way to find out is by the flavor description (or trying out the item in-game).
I may be wrong but I think the Justicar Armor set proc is one?
I have also been looking into making a similar build but am leaning towards making up for the lack of damage auras with “aura like” procs.
For example the Beacon of Winter’s Veil and the Elemental Balance ring set throw up projectiles that spin around you like Targo’s Hammer or Gaurdian Gaze devotion skills and effectively create a zone around you in which damage is dealt.
Lots of epics and some legendaries have a “ring of flame” or “ring of rimefire” proc that acts similarly to the damaging auras you mentioned. The Kilrian’s Shattered Soul component functions similarly as well, but the uptime is pretty low.
Well I guess what you should be doing is get those Aura and fill up on “Chance on hit” so that for exemple Night Chill generate some proc. Having 3 aura that do such (and I guess all hit every second) will probably translate all “X% Chance on hit” to unlimited proc.
Considering you are already going Nightblade Stormheart and Light Defender could give you 3 Chain Lightning Proc
Night’s Embrace amulet have 12 sec. duration passive-damaging aura.
Consumption of Agrivix off-hand have 15 sec. duration attack buff radius, that have equal effect as aura, but also can be assigned to offensive devotion skill.
Hopefully Mythical Shard of Astekarn will keep its aura and then get something more. Between Night’s Chill , Aura of Censure , Shard of Astekarn and Whirling blades you will have 4 sources of aoe dmg to trigger all kinds of “chance on attack” and “chance on crit” item procs. Aura Infiltrator is definitly on my list to build it just seems really item dependent so maybe i will make a Mage Hunter first to farm all those new legendaries for infiltrator.
There’s actually a couple more items that add damage.
Mythical Chilling Grip of Hagarrad - Adds cold damage to Veil of Shadow
Mythical Mark of Dark Dreams - Adds cold damage to Veil of Shadow and increases the radius
Night’s Embrace has a damage aura on cooldown
The gloves and other gear above would probably be better than using the Mageslayer set. More granted damage auras skills means more devotion procs.
But… Mythical Shard of Asterkarn lost its aura so it’s the regular one for now. Maybe replace one/both with a beefy proc if we don’t need any more devotions.
@Lind, indeed, Mythical Rune Armor of Ignaffar looks amazing. It’d add all three elemental damage types into the mix (fire from Censure, cold from Night’s Chill and lightning from the armor!
Not sure how word of pain works exactly i mean why it has duration , is it and aoe aura around you ? or does it stay in place ?
Empty slots are yet to be decided - propably will use those to cap out on resistances and add some more health if there aren’t any worthy procs.
Gloves - could be those aswell http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8039
Boots - http://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8019 have proc but its only 3,5 range and not much in terms of defense.
Geting all those items will be hard af but im super hyped to make auramancer build.
