PC crashes to BSOD after a few minutes in Game - v 0.9.4

Hi,

I’m experiencing a bit of a strange behaviour with the game. Whenever I’m for a few minutes in Game, my whole PC crashes to a BSOD (StopCode: Hypervisor Error). I could reproduce this with the attached savegames quite reliable and also with new games.
I first thought it might be a hardware related issue, but up to now I wasn’t able to reproduce this outside of the game, nor could I find any issues hardware wise. This leads me to think it might actually be an issue with the game itself that causes this behaviour.
I’ve uploaded the dxdiag data and the savegame here → FarthestFrontierData.

Unfortunately it seems that the Game is not generating any CrashDumps, so I hope you might be able to reproduce it or have an idea what I can try to find the core issue here.

thx in advance for your help!

A game cannot cause a PC to blue screen, this is an indicator that something is seriously wrong. It could mean a hardware issue (RAM and PSU are common causes), or something in the OS.

Farthest Frontier is very taxing on a system due to its demand on CPU and Ram to simulate the town, so it can exacerbate an underlying system problem, but the game software itself cannot trigger a BSOD. You will want to investigate the problem for sure to avoid damaging your system.

Hope that helps.

There are huge performance issues. In my case game runs smoothly but after 3 minutes GPU becomes extremely noisy soon after i get black screen (no signal to the monitor) and the only solution is to shut down the entire system and wait for GPU to cool down.

I’ve never experienced such issue with any other game …

My spec:
i5-13600K
64gb ram
GeForce RTX 3070

I have 4k 60hz display but in settings i’ve set:

Full screen, V-sync, resolution 1920x1080, supersampling 75%
run in background (10 fps),
enable edge scroll

everything else disabled yet still your game is trying to fry my GPU. What’s wrong?

Do you have any software like Afterburner controlling your fan speeds?

Nope. My main problem is that game is conducting a lot of GPU computation.

I got another idea. Are you guys sure that resolution setting is working?
There is no difference in look between 4k and 1080, nor difference in noise of my GPU.

The game is almost always going to be CPU limited due to the simulation, so the GPU spinning out of control is unusual.

If your settings aren’t saving, make sure other software, such as antivirus, aren’t blocking the game.

settings are saving they just do not change anything
