As stated from a fellow player here, I’m also encoutering a total freeze of my computer after playing Grim Dawn for some time, the sound also starts buzzing most of the time when the freeze happens.
The following solutions have been tried without success:
playing without any sound from the game
V-sync on/off
game capped at 60fps
My specs:
i7-12700, Asus H670 Pro wifi D4 (BIOS + Realtek audio up to date from Asus) with a 6700XT (latest WHQL drivers, tried with older ones). Win 11 up to date.
Other chipset drivers are up to date.
LatencyMon.txt (17.1 KB)
LatencyMon issues that could be related with sound problems…I tried dealing with the following but it did not help:
C-states and Speedstep off
XMP on/off
power settings: max performance, min/max 100%, processors idle promote/demote 100%, disabled USB selective suspend, disabled fast boot (in Win but also in bios)
Judging from the provided DXDIAG report, your system loads up/enables 3 extra drivers/devices related to the sound system:
5 - MSI MAG274QRF (AMD High Definition Audio Device)
Microphone (TONOR TC30 Audio Device)
Casque ([Samsung] Soundbar J-Series)
If you could test with these disabled for a few hours [Realtek drivers and devices are legit] and see if the problem still happens, then it would be great. Eventually, if you could disable the sounds and music altogether in the game and see it that helps, it would confirm the report from Latency Mon: the sound devices/drivers in your hardware/software being the issue.
Sorry for the late response, the issue still happens even with these devices disabled unfortunately.
Sounds in game are completely disabled, I was just listening to music a few minutes ago and the game froze again.
Tried this fix also but it didn’t help, thanks though.
