Pet Attack Speed Mechanics Question

(This is my first post, been lurking a while.)

Search came up largely empty on these questions:

a) Is Pet attack speed capped?

b) Once you get to a “high enough” level of Pet Attack DMG% (say, 800%), wouldn’t Pet Attack Speed be a far better addition? And this is because DPS increase equals (change in DMG%)/(previous total DMG%)?

c) Does an increase in pet attack speed increase pet DPS in the following matter: (change in pet attack speed)/(previous pet attack speed)? So at low levels pet attack speed can have a massive % boost but once it gets high enough it doesn’t?

DaShiv’s guides have been hugely helpful, particularly his spreadsheets. But any help with these questions would be awesome!

I was searching the other day and the best I could find was this thread:
question about pet attack speed
The conclusion was that they definitely do, at the game engine limit at least, but no one knows the exact number. It was speculated to be 250%. Maybe there is something more up to date but I couldn’t find it. Personally I doubt there is enough AS for pets to reach the limit, and even if you could it wouldn’t be worth the other stats sacrificed.

In general you need to think of the damage formula when prioritizing what to get.
(Flat Damage) X (DMG%) X (AS) X (Crit chance X Crit DMG) X (Resistance Reduction)

For me, Flat damage and RR is a prioirty, followed by Crit/AS and then DMG%.

Yes, and this is true for all the components in the damage formula- the more you have the less you gain from more. As per DaShiv’s guide, it’s very important to look at the whole formula when choosing what bonuses to prioritize. His spreadsheet is excellent.

#1 There is a limit on the speed of game engine animations, so pets’ speed are capped this way.

#2It’s very linear math : base*speed(not exactly the case read#3)crit(all res thredders)

#3 Summoners kite most of the time, so crit is superior. (Pets don’t get to hit that often)

:p:p:rolleyes::rolleyes:
