As it stands there are only 2 ranged weapons desigend for use with pets.
Legion Hand Cannon + Elite & Witching Hour + Mythical
And there is ONLY 1 ammo component that has a pet bonus.

Of course the stone components have pet bonuses for almost all damage types (including 2 for pierce!? none for bleeding?) but they can’t be applied to ranged weapons…
Coldstone, Enchanted Flint, Riftstone, Vitriolic Gallstone, Wrathstone, Serrated Spike, Vicious Spikes
Obviously at first glance it appears that because there is no stone component for lightning damage to pets that the ammo was chosen to fit that hole. However that leaves all other ammos in the dark with no pet bonuses.
I am suggesting that Hell’s Bane Ammo either loose it’s pet bonus (possibly upgrading Amber to fill that roll) or all other ammos get pet bonuses like HBA.
There’s no telling if and when new ranged weapons designed for use with pets will be added and open up to more diverse builds in that regards but these components would make that process more rewarding and enjoyable when the time comes!
if you notice the pet bonus is on a toggle buff
since none of the other ammos have toggle buffs, but a granted offensive skill, that’s probably why there is no pet bonus on them
in general it’s why i prefer leveling as lightning when doing guns, because it’s the only ammo with a buff, and i’m not super fond of ex demon’s breath, chaos bolt etc granted skills, - tho Silver spread is kinda neat. Or i just default to blessed steel/oleron whatever good stronk “all weapon” components might fit
Both of the Pierce damage components (Vicious/Serrated Spikes) can be applied to guns. As an alternative to damage, you also have Purified Salt and Imbued Silver for pet resistances while levelling (as typically pet users will use Seal of Might by the end). That said, i don’t disagree with what you’re asking for.
