Went through SR80-81 okay enough, very slow though though since the lack of a flat elemental damage bonus to Cadence leads to just the basic 2 pistols amount. Will probably mess around with the devotions and rings some more, but otherwise it’s pretty lacklustre compared to lightning cadence’s damage output.
I suspect using the Luminari set I can get better DPS thanks to the conversions for pierce, but yeah, yet another case of why elemental Cadence needs more support lawl. At least it does have some damage output though.
Why do you expect it to work? The gun has no bonus to cadence?
I’ve seen you post a few more of these lately. Not every build you make has to be able to do SR90 or whatever. Some combinations will be less potent than others.
which is fine
but GD balancing is in general about buffing underdogs to be acceptable even if never top tier, so it’s a question about “how underdog” are we or what’s the expectation intended to be
(example being devs have openly stated that ex Conduit builds should never really expect to get super buffed/stay pretty underdog’ish)
Cadence is a main class skill tho, with oodles of support, meaning there might be some additional intent than ex conduit memes, and if that skill/build is then still not functioning acceptable “with oodles of support” (the amount of support suggesting “this is to be a thing” - but the thing still struggling), it’s often then a prime target for buff considerations.
The fine line is/will just always be the performance requirement, devs vs player sometimes have different gradients of what we think of as desired performance threshold
*but also in this case i think it’s worth to note Cadence has (long) been of note for general buffs over time, one way or another, and we did just get recent 1.2.1 buffs to ex phys cadence, “which was needed/deserved”. Could then stand to reason if the main approach deserved buffs, perhaps its cousin does so to
**perhaps another note is that player expectation, re performance, has (probably) also changed/increased over times with updates, also contra devs statements relation to content/performance.
More builds being capable of X and Y over time with some not capable or “sucking” at Y might give the appearance it should be doing Y fine “since all the others do now”
best example would be how SR 90 seems more and more the “norm” now, when it was an extreme outlier in the past, and now has almost arrived at a default expectation state
(even if not truly default by all players/builders - it’s def increasing tho)
Devs "not so sneak"buffed Celestials in last patch, despite making regular content more accessible/diversity viable, sorta really making it clear what they said/meant with “not all builds intended to handle these” and the patch overall just changed our entire “meta” in terms of stat/defence focus
Personally I think that’s more to the Top 20 showcasing what’s possible. For the vast majority of builds and the people playing them SR90’s not achievable because it requires attaining a bunch of metrics most builds can’t reach. I should know lawl, I’ve been throwing stuff against SR85-86 expressly to test them and my piloting skills. And that leads to a lot of failures, frustrations and addictions to
Also, at the moment it’s mainly the hardcore left, so we’re seeing more highly polished builds posted and less of the more standard stuff.
Otherwise I agree with you on the rest lawl. Case in point, the changes done to the Mythical Exonerator gun have made pure lightning gunslingers much, much better, and made lightning Cadence into a non-meme. So hence why I posted this thread, because I’d like to see some love for Discord Cadence
to my surprise that’s not even it
i think it simply stems from different build approach by default, like how some really like tanky builds, coughOctaviousWarlordcough, or pet builds or just chase like a different “goal” so not really caring about multi builds(is fine running the same over and over) or clear speed/“overall performance” the same as top 20 deals with.
*basing that on the notions from before top20 or even before sr90 getting loot, or players scoffing at top20 (if not even mocking top20 builds as bad ) - but i also think adding loot to SR90 really increased it too, specially to a few that think it’s the most optimal loot possible in the game (since builds have also gotten faster over time )
What the build lacks is a single target damage, in game OA/DA is actually more than 2.9k/2.7k. The dps sheet says about 60k although with seals, deadly momentum, and word of renewal it still quite low for cadence with only 115k dps I think. Frequent Cadence hit is 200-300k, although highest crit is like 450k.
Highest shard it can finish is SR80, since SR81 it just straight out can’t kill Valdaran, even Reaper is troublesome as it can takes even several minutes of hit and run, not to mention the slog in the shard part, so this is more like a SR75 build to say the least.
It does plays nice with Cadence, Zolhan, and Chilling round piercethrough on corridor, but on open field it’s still pretty slow.
I think the solution would be by buffing that weapon and the luminari gun base damage, 21-27 is too low
Not bad, but Solider WPS hit really hard and are very, very much worth investing in. Also getting to the attack speed cap is always a must, because that way you get Cadence hitting more often. And Ignaffar’s Combustion is the best in slot due to it’s elemental RR proc.
But yeah, not surprised SR81 feels to hard, it’s why I went with Ravager’s helm, Ignaffar’s and Cursed Tinctures, because all the RR you can get when you only have 1 skill with it really helps.
Here’s the draft version of mine:
Probably going to go for Attak Seru instead, due to the 6% DA + 4% OA node, but I do love Seekers lawl.
Also need to chose the affixes on the living ring… Which will probably lead to even more OA :3
