I feel like physical damage devotions for ranged 1h weapons and spells are pretty much non-existant.
Assassin’s Blade is the generic phys -rr, but its points are dead weight for physical damage. Still a mandatory pick, because -rr is king, but feels bad to waste 4 points to get to it.
Aside from that we have Bear (melee only), Kraken (2h only) and Oleron (Melee only)
Which devotion to pick with Fire/Physical pistol character?
I second this. I won’t say Vire suits physical ranged playstyle at all. I’d recommend removing ranged lock from Oleron. Since it’d be less of a chore than making an entire constellation
Keep buffing Hydra until it becomes irresistible.
I also think that Falcon could really use some help. It used to be crazy good for a tier 1 constellation when it was released, but it’s been neutered so many times since then that it’s just unattractive now.
Between The Falcon and The Toad, I’d choose the latter every time. Better value for my points and it costs a point fewer? Sign me up.
Same thing with Quill.
The thing with Falcon is that both its nodes and the skill are bad now. The nodes are extremely barren, but that’s not unusual for other 5 node clusters with an attack ability like this.
But compared to the other abilities like Scorpion Sting (has a huge reduced 150 DA debuff) or Guardian’s Gaze (0.5s CD and the spinning eyes are pretty good), it just compares poorly.
It has always bothered me about the Falcon constellation that, while being such a prominent gateway to gaining points in the Eldritch and Ascendant aspects, it was geared towards bleeding damage. There has never been a shortage of bleeding damage dealing skills, nor of devotions that favor that damage type.
Just taking away that bleeding damage from Falcon Swoop and upping the percentage of weapon damage on the skill could go a long way towards making it much more useful for a wide range of builds.
