Hey fellas, I’m nearly half way into my latest character and am not digging the build and want to change it up. I’m thinking dual wield cadence with warborn set. Bunch of noob questions here so bare with me lol. It says cadence magnify’s it’s 3rd attack so do WPS like execution overwrite it? Should I avoid all the WPS skills and focus solely on cadence? Now blitz. I love this skill and zipping around the map but as a dual wielder is it worth to pump up for some aoe or is this more a sword and board skill? Devotions. Is Falcon swoop worth it as a dual wielder or should I go for bull rush or maul for extra aoe? I guess my end goal is to go for blind fury and assassin’s mark, but if anyone has a solid devotion path they can nudge me towards I’d be grateful. Thanks all and good day
Cadence and WPS - Cadence’s third strike always overrides any WPS.
If you want suggestions on your build, it’s helpful to show a GrimCalc version of the your character skills.
Typically if you are doing WPS, you usually dual wield. As you are a noob-type person (welcome aboard), I’d suggest avoiding Cadence with a dual wield WPS type build.
Cadence and WPS don’t synergize well but they aren’t completely antithetical either. Cadence is composed of 3 strikes. The first 2 strikes can trigger other WPS such as execution as per normal, but the 3rd strike will ALWAYS be a cadence strike and deal the listed damage for the cadence skill. This means that all WPS other than Cadence are effectively at 66% chance to happen since 2/3 of your hits can trigger them.
Blitz is a great skill but not great for a dual wielder. Replace blitz with shadow strike and you’re golden. Blitz is best suited for s+b since it only uses the offhand if it’s a shield, but shadow strike uses both weapons when dual wielding so you want to go with SS. SS tends to be better at single target damage than blitz, but you can somewhat mitigate the lack of AoE with the Nightfall skill node and still get very respectable area damage.

If he’s going for physical then blitz is better for the flat phys damage it has. Also hits with both weapons at once like SS
Are you sure about Blitz? I was under the impression it only hit with main hand unless the off hand was a shield. I’d be happy to be wrong about it if that’s the case.
This is wrong, Blitz uses only the Mainhand (and, if equiped, the Shield)
Oh wow I didn’t even realize blitz only hits with one weapon while dual wielding lol guess I’ll have to rethink this. What about those devotions, are Falcon bull rush and maul decent choices for dual wielder?

Do you want mainly physical or pierce? Or maybe both of them mixed?
First of all for Blitz as a DW, i wouldn’t put more than one point into it including Blindside. Blitz only uses mainhand so its not worth investing points.
I’ve noticed investing too many WPS just drowns it and doesn’t even trigger most of the time. I think keeping Execution at 8 and some points into Markovian Advantage works the best.
I am not satisfied with remaining skill attachment on Falcon Swoop, doesnt trigger as much so i’d choose Blind Fury over FS for Cadence. But you can change the devotion setup and still get FS and attach it to Ring of Steel.
You can try 3 piece Warborn and 2 Reaver’s Claw for pierce heavy setup or full Warborn + a mace to your liking that can be a good MI or double Warborn maces.

I think in both cases Warborn and Reaver’s Claw procs respectively combined with Blind fury provide more than enough AoE for you. Especially RC + BF blades spinning around you constantly looks so satisfying.
Ya Pyro I’m gonna go for physical set up with warborn set and double gavel if I can get a second. The dual earthquake and blindfury should be plenty of aoe I think but I just tried Falcon swoop on blade spirit and just…LOL. Birds everywhere. Never tried this devotion before but I’m still on elite lvling up and with 2 blade spirits out these birds destroy everything pretty funny.
I tried both of them and agree. The reason why I tried ss was that I didnt like mobs to fly around the screen, to pick them up and kill them seperately. But the def debuff + its AOE from Blitz with mod. I simply find it better and I found another solution for that push back. 1 point though (6 + 6 on mod with bonus).
Completing the warborn set gave another boost I dont want to miss, 2 x Gavel seemed too slow while Reaver`s pushed every soldier skill +1 on top of 19% attack speed on it, 1.91 base speed. To overcap attack speed is even better because its getting debuffed often enough.
