Please add "custom notes" page in the journal

Just what the title says - I’d love to have an option to write my own notes. Quite often, I’m skipping some more challenging quests/areas that I want to come back later to. Or I want to craft a certain item that has a lot of prerequisities and I tend to forget what was I even crafting during the process. Or I find a sequence of devotions I want to follow, then don’t play GD for a while and I come back wondering what it was… Having a custom notes page in the journal would be super handy to keep track of such things!

Back in the 80s I used a notepad and a pen for things like that, nowadays I use Notepad++

The thing with the journal is, access is limited to each character, you wouldn’t be able to read notes from other characters unless you switch back and forth between them.
So even if GD had a custom notes page in the journal I’d still use Notepad++, it seems much more convenient to just quickly alt-tab out of the game and see all my notes in one place rather than having to switch through characters to find a certain note.

I would like to add custom markers to the map or notes to a char too, but so few games allow it, that I wouldn’t keep my hopes up. Instead I stick to pen & paper. Guess I still live in the 80s. It has the advantage of being free-form, so I can throw tables and graphs into my notes, which would be difficult with an in-game notepad.

Me too but…

This is actually exactly what I want - just one journal page per character, visible only when I’m playing that chracter. With 10+ builds ATM, I don’t want a cluttered text file (that I have to ALT+TAB to view/modify) with notes for all of them. I want a simple ingame way of “getting back on track” so that when I don’t play certain build for a while and then decide to give it another go I can just quickly check “oh, this is what I had planned with this particular build - let’s go!”.

I also believe this would be the easiest way to implement the feature, making it more likely to actually happen.

Agreed but I didn’t mention this for the sake of simplicity. I’d be fine with just having the option to write down stuff like “Next place to visit: Steps of Torment” and it’s more likely to get implemented this way.

I mean Deus Ex had it back in 2000 and it wasn’t even a RPG in the true sense, LOL. (I just recently re-played it and it’s as relevant as ever with GMDX mod :blue_heart:)
