Please have a look at Nex & Ortus - needs fixing.

These 2 legendary swords which are a part of the 2piece set have nothing
in comon except for being swords. Their damage and ability-bonuses works
against eachother when it comes down to their intended class-build - Saboteur.

The Demolitionist tree offers no bonuses to cold damage, it has no debuff that decreases
the enemies resistances to cold or fire damage. And it has no buff for Cold damage, only fire.

The Nightblade’s skilltree offers no bonuses towards Firedamage, and no debuffs
against fire either.

So its obvious that these 2 combined classes doesn’t really complement eachother
in terms of buffing eachothers elements, yet we get these 2 end-game swords
which are specifically designed to increase skills that literally doesn’t really help the build much.

The simple logic behind this set simply isn’t there  .

I mean, exactly how does the Nightblade profit from +2 Firestrike, they don’t deal firedamage.

Looks like it was fully intended for a dual-wield Saboteur. The items and the masteries buff themselves.

You take Firestrike and set it to your default attack. Nightblade can add cold damage on top of that along with any fire damage from Demo. What’s the problem?

There are people that build for this.

I got Ortus just recently, and I am going to see what I can do with it, then maybe I will be lucky enough to get Nex.

I have tried to play with them, and I agree that they are sort of garbage, but I don’t really understand your argument.

I’m not sure why any melee Saboteur would not be using firestrike? I think that the bonuses are okay in theory, they just don’t really work out.

I don’t think they are completely unplayable or anything, I think they will just come up short of some other options.

The problem is that the Nightblade and Demolitionist are 2 totally different
classes in terms of elements, and they don’t support or boost eachother,
they are like a square and round peg…

Arcanist is a better tree to pair with demo because OFF debuffs enemies for
more FIRE damage, and Arcanist also fits Nightblade because of its bonus to elemental damage
and defensive abilities.

Nightblade offers no synergi with anything special in Demo.

I have a Saboteur myself and i really see no reason to use these swords
since the COLD-side of my damage will not benefit anything from Nex.

playing those two on my saboteur with the rings: ruby/saphire of elemental balance. he is mid ultimate and so far it has been an amazing combination. havent reached nemesis on any faction with this char, so i cant talk about that but everything else gets pretty much anihilated by this 34k dps monster

They work together for reasons aside from damage type. A Sabotuer is likely focusing on Fire and Lighnting damage from Fire Strike and the Dual-Wield tree from Nightblade. Not the only way to play it but likely the best. Grab utility from both and you’re set.

Basically, strong AA replacer + dual wield tree works fabulously.

The weapons are lackluster, though.

Soldier and Arcanist are totally different classes in terms of damage types: one is physical and the other one is magical. But Nightblade and Demo can both be played physical and magical.

Unless enemies are immune to the debuff.

Depends. When converting to elemental damage you only get 1/3 cold damage. The other elements are pointless. And by converting you also reduce the amount of piercing damage (the other primary damage type of Nightblade) you deal.

Temper, full Fire Strike tree, Blast Shield. Stun Jacks, Concussive Bomb, Falshbang, Vindictive Flame for utility. These are the skills which synergize very well with the standard WPS Nightblade.

The only problem I have with these swords is that their bonuses are only trully useful if you DW then with a Saboteur and you can’t really benefit from one of them alone, because for whatever reason, Crate gave them mixed skill bonuses and the sword that boosts Fire Strike, an esential skll for melee, is the one that does… Cold damage…

They should make the Cold based one offer bonuses to Amarasta’s Blade Burst/Amarasta’s Quick Cut and the Fire one offer Fire Strike/Exposive Strike bonuses, so that you can at least use one of them while you don’t get the other. :undecided:

Fun Fact: Using 2x Ortus’s is ridiculously overpowered. Try it out.

But Nex sucks.
