And why not? Is there some unspoken law of the Universe that states only game devs have a lock on “good balance”? Some mod makers do, believe it or not, believe in having balance as well. And some actually are able to achieve it.
Anyway, there should be some new masteries upon release of the 1st expansion and not before. When that will be is still up in the air but it is on it’s way.
Keep in mind the current masteries have been getting “balanced” for years now. It is not an easy thing to achieve (even for Crate). Any new masteries will likely still be rough around the edges upon introduction also.

Probably, but the devs have always worded it as “first expansion”. Just read the description for the Loyalist version of Grim Dawn.
If the first one sells well then there is the potential for more. And they’ve said in the past (medierra specifically) they would like to do more than just one.
Time shall tell.

Well especially since it would most likely only require a designer or two to develop the story and make the content. Shouldn’t require programmers to do anything unless new mechanics are added.
Theoretically, they could continue creating content for GD as long as there was interest.
If a million monkeys made a million mods before Crate released the expansion, chances are one of them would be better balanced.
Now if only I had a million monkeys.
I don’t mind more expansions, i am curious about how the story will turn out though. It seems like we might end fighting some God (Korvaak). I wonder how that’ll get implemented in the game considering even Avatars are almost unkillable

Considering the huge map of Cairn, I’m pretty sure that at least a 2nd expansion is a given, considering how they went ahead and said “first expansion”… but whatever that is, it’s miles away from now.
I’m interested to see if they plan to add something tougher than Mogdrogen. Does that seem likely?
It would be disappointing if they don’t add a mighty celestial… and please crate put a god as powerful as mogdrogen as an act boss, not as a bonus enemy please!

The “please nerf” train would be so high it’s not funny. It’s also an example of bad game design. Bosses like Mogdrogen should always be optional. Some people just want to finish the game with their chosen build.
If they put something similar to Mogdrogen as an act boss, then 97% of the builds wouldn’t beat the act unless Crate overbuffed everything.
Mogdrogen is pretty much the Superboss of the game, something like Kaiser Dragon from Final Fantasy 6 and Ozma from Final Fantasy 9. Well, except you can beat those two rather easily, but you get the point.
