I think it will still fit the theme and it will fit all the damage type oathkeeper’s transmuter support.
In my opinion, chaos fits more. Sentinel’s set is Sentinel’s set (however it sounds, I mean the boss in Hidden Path). He’s in a dark-ish place where you can even feel chaos, and it’s full of acids and poisons. I don’t see any vitality in it. It’s purely thematical and this is what Crate wanted to do.
Also combining that set with the Darkblaze Source allows for the only real chaos retaliation build since retal damage is effected by damage conversion with the new patch 
The thing is, the set doesn’t have much support in chaos either. It doesn’t even gives any RR to chaos. Doesn’t make sense to make the set have chaos damage where occultist and sentinel don’t have any RR for chaos.
Personally, I am happy if crate change the scepter to deal pure acid.
Otherwise, making it as acid vitality is more interesting because of dual damage.

I just want it to have a proc a la Markovian so we can just use Vire’s might + a similar movement rune augment then we can go sk8trboi build. That could be possible with Vanquisher templar tho.
