This has been bugging me for quite a while. In a game where everything is so well designed, where developers are constantly improving and fixing its content Celestial procs icons all look the same. It kinda looks like it was left unfinished and developers forgot about it.
Please, developers, draw those little icons, it’s annoying and confusing to monitor your celestial procs and cooldowns when Reckless Tempest looks exactly like Ghoulish Hunger and Giant’s Blood (they have a tooltip if you hover over them, but that’s not very useful in the heat of an intense battle). It shouldn’t be very hard, right? But it’s gonna improve gaming experience by quite a bit.
I agree with this idea. In that case, a graphic will be required to indicate that it is a constellation skill (eg shiny edging).
However, it will take time to create icons, so the priority will be low at this time.
I don’t think it takes that long really, those are small ass icons and it shouldn’t really be a problem to draw them or just take constellations drawings, colour them and resize them.
Agreed. It can be annoying to not see which devotion buffs you’ve got up, and it’s one of those things that just feels unpolished. Recoloring existing skill icons would be good enough.
I am bumping this since it was ignored in a latest patch. Playing Callidor’s Sorceress at the moment and buff icon panel is a mess. I have 3 or 4 icons that look exactly the same but show different procs. Please, Crate.
Lazy…oh boy…nothing irks me more than calling my teammates lazy.
The guy who made Devotion art? Works a typical 10-12 hour day. But yeah, he’s lazy.
Maybe consider that we live in the real world, where days aren’t as long we want and only so much can get done. And item art for the expansion was in fact a much higher priority than devotion buff icons. As for that particular weapon…Chthon forbid somebody EVER has fun while they work…
Well, first u do your job well, then u can be ironic to some random dude wanting the game to improve in a great way, cause this bugs me for a while too.
Oh yeah, because the devs didn’t made a high priority to make new skill icon for a single skill, now they’re “lazy”… yeah, it’s almost as if they didn’t just released a gigant patch recently, fixing a lot of stuff and improving the game further… definitly “lazy devs”, right??
hAHa, devs are 12 btw.
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Maybe the baby is crying because it wants its bottle?
Proof that I’m the true (and only) deity of Cairn and fightning against me makes you (our player character) the villain
#FuckKorvaak #MiddleFingerWeapon
P.S
If he’s the guy doing the item textures, he should be probably considering sleeping a bit.
Whether it bugs you or anyone else is irrelevant
I personally can’t stand it when some item related skill icons share the same one like Shar’Zul’s Wrath, Sun Spot and Conflagration. It’s more painful to see since since I am used to devotion icons looking the same but not skill icons
Would making a feedback thread inform them of this? Definitely
Even then will they change this stuff? Maybe?
Would screaming at them and calling them lazy work? Definitely not
With the balancing patches and the upcoming rogue dungeon they and particularly the artist sounds real busy
Not even going to answer u cause I’m here to talk about the game, not to discuss with a random nobody, sorry
And it’s not a single icon, there are plenty… Giant’s blood, howl of mogdrogen, ghoulish hunger, hungering void, wayward soul… these that I remember now.
If they proc at the same time, u don’t know exactly what u need to use as a skill to proc another one specific.
Pretty serious I would say.
As I see it, yes it would be nice, but it’s one of those little nice things that’s very low on the priority list. I’d prefer that devs keep working on awesome new content than worry about little icons. Besides, why are you taking time out of combat to worry about which proc is up? It shouldn’t change what you do. Just keep whacking the enemy.
I’m gonna go ahead and guess you’ve never designed icons for a living.
The smaller the icon, the harder the design actually is
smaller means less pixels to work with, you have a lot less pixels to work with, so the images have to be really minimalist
they still have to be clearly distinguishable and ideally still somehow meaningful
transitory icons that appear when there’s important stuff happening have to be recognizable at a quick glance.
When they inevitably aren’t recognizable at a quick glance, the bitching about how “they all look the same” goes up by orders of magnitude.
“Well, can’t you just throw in a tool-tip?”
“Wait, how come I have to hover over the damn things to tell what they are?”
“I don’t have time to read a story when I should just be glancing at a picture!”
“It’s just a tiny picture! How hard can this be?”
Sorry. Design meeting PTSD. Pardon the rant.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the idea of new icons, but your statement about the design problem is completely and utterly wrong.
