[Poison Caster] 10th Plague of Dreeg - Bloody Pox Poison Witch Hunter

The only build that never received an update post AoM is now finally up to date.

>Guide updated
>Added Soiled Trousers Witch Hunter

There really ought to be one or two more “funny” items like Cauldron and Pants forming a “comic relief”-set.
Also gettin hit by shit ought to come with heavy debuffs.

I’d like to see them buffed tbh. Their damage is way too low.

How does this build do for AOE? DEE seems great for single target, but not so much for aoe. The transmuter helps some, but that cool down…

Bloody Pox acts like a contagion in that it can spread from one enemy to another so casting it on one enemy in a crowd will quickly coat the rest.

Besides that, he’s bound it to Tainted Eruption which is a massive explosion of Poison that has a chance to proc every 3 seconds and will do so often.

Hello new to grim dawn and really loving this build except I’ve started to struggle a bit in act 3 elite and I feel it’s because I’ve not been spending my points properly. (I’m level 60)

Should I be taking points out of EED and maxing pox? Also I’ve been neglecting the Nightblade tree is this a mistake?

I would post my grimtools but 3 post minimum :frowning: Thank you for any help

There’s a thread to bump your post count…

You need some Nightblade skills for poison and acid damage and to reduce enemy resistances to poison and acid.

Thank you so much for that link . Here is a link to my current character https://www.grimtools.com/calc/M2g481KV I’ve just been placing points anywhere really trying to follow the guide.

Also not entirely sure what stats I should be getting on gear?

Thank you for any help.

Which area are you struggling in or is it against a certain Boss?

I agree with Drok that more points in Nightblade is probably the solution. It offers another strong Poison applier, consistent Poison resist reduction, another on-demand heal and an emergency life saver.

Edit:

I would try shifting around your points around to something like this and seeing how it goes.

As for gear stats to look for, resistances become increasingly important in Elite/Ultimate as well as other similar defensive stats (like Armour Absorption). Damage-wise, offensive ability and crit damage are fairly important for DoT charactersl. Keep a decent pool of % damage as you go and look out for gear with any skill bonuses or good procs.

the act 3 boss and area leading up to him just seems to be wrecking me I’ll respec and give your points a try to see if that helps

Do you mean Karroz or Darkvale Gate?

If so, I’d recommend you increase your Chaos resistance to ~40%, I like having resists around 60% for Elite preferably. Good/quick ways of doing this would be to use a Black Tallow or 2 or an Imbued Silver for the Aura it provides or a Sanctified Bone. You can also check Benevald in the Blood Grove as he is capable of selling Kymon Badge’s which provide a chunk for free.

I don’t think his first phase is notable in terms of attacks but in his second phase, be aware that he can spawn 3 void puddles under you one-after-another that can quickly rack up damage. I believe his animation tell for this is him lifting both of his arms up so I recommend moving when he does so.

I also recommend looking for gear to increase your Aether resistance as well as Lucius might be rough as well - Act 4 is heavy on Aether/Chaos so it’s a good idea to prioritise them when you start to get close to this point.

You might also want to consider a Scaled Hide for a bit of armour absorption so Physical damage is less scathing but it depends on how well you’re able to take/recover from blows.

how can you dual wield without dual wield talent ?

There are a couple of relics and a medal that enable you to do so.

Take a look at the transmuter for Pneumatic Burst
