Poison stacking fun times

So, I asked a question elsewhere, didn’t get an answer, so here’s an answer for anyone curious about the mechanics of poison stacking on the same attack.

Default Attack - 652 per second
Shadow Strike Level 1 (1.15x weapon damage) - 750 per second (1.15x base value)
Shadow Strike Level 16 (3.00x weapon damage) - 1955 per second (3.00x base value)

So far so good - weapon % damage scales the strength of the poison DoT granted by gear/devotions/passives/etc.

Shadow Strike Level 16 + Justifiable Ends - 5112 per second (expected value is 3.00x base + 3226 from Justifiable Ends = 5181)

So, there is a slight discrepancy, but mostly this seems to work. Justifiable ends applies its own DoT that doesn’t seem to interact with Shadow Strike’s % weapon damage ratio. If anyone could explain where it comes from, that would be great. Also, I have no idea where the +200% poison damage modifier on Justifiable Ends goes. Does it affect the default attack poison value? Does it affect the Justifiable Ends poison? Either way, the listed damage is less than expected.

Shadow Strike Level 16 + Justifiable Ends + Nightfall - 5112 per second.

It seems that Nightfall’s 40% weapon damage is completely ignored on the primary target, at least poison wise.

The secondary targets took 232 damage per second from poison, which is actually a perfect match of the 40% weapon damage value of the skill (dummy has a bit of poison resist, so it actually took 582 instead of 652 damage, but 232/582 = 0.4 or 40%).

It also seems that Nightfall doesn’t carry over any of the Justifiable Ends bonuses (neither the poison damage % boost nor the poison dot itself).

TLDR - % Weapon Damage of the attack scales the default attack poison damage tics.

I will be using this in the future
