Pokemon GO

Looks like Nintendo hit the jackpot with this game.

The game itself is okay. Get’s repetitive when you see the same Pokemon (Ratata) like 50 times daily and it drains your battery quick.

That being said, I now think AR will beat VR in the long run.
(Wonder if Microsoft will team with Nintendo to make a Pokemon that works with the HoloLens.)

Tried it for about an hour.

Server crashes, really slow loading times even on very high speed wifi. Drains battery very badly.

Requires me to like, walk around and shit.

Pokemon NO.

The game is a grindfest, its an ARPG basically where you have to repeatedly capture dupes to make your strongest of that pokemon stronger.

Catch a ratata with hyperfang > level it by catching other ratatas and using their candy from captures/transfers or evolve it.

The battery consumption is getting better now, It certainly is a massive drain but I work so I can’t sit there on the phone playing 24/7. It’s far from an OK game, its great for how simplistic it is… not to mention it’s free with 0 ads.

Yeah… I don’t see myself playing this unless I’m very bored. Happy for Nintendo though.

How does it works with pokecoins? Is it must be microtransaction and no other way?

Is it possible to play without any microtransaction involved?

There is PokeStop locations that give you free items like PokeBalls. But you have to walk/drive to find them. Most are usually located in downtown locations where the big buildings are.

Not true, they are located everywhere it just depends on where you live, and I would not be surprised to see more being added with time.

I live about an hour from downtown, and we have a shitton here, there’s 3 down the street from me and a few blocks away we have a small shopping center which has another couple. Certain “historic” areas are generally considered Pokestops from what I have seen, and popular restaurants. I mean if you live in a rural area, I think you’re pretty fucked when it comes to playing Go but that might change as there are quite a few people complaining about that.

I see. What about coins? How do player earn them? My region still don’t get access to this but i tried the game using downloadable apk in apk website. So I’m not entirely sure if my region have this pokestop or not. Maybe the map is not populated yet with places yet I’m guessing.

I’ve read you get coins by battling with Gym leaders and beating them. But the problem is those people have attained high levels now because they have too much time on their hands. If you play casually (not a lot) it’s now almost impossible to get coins because those people are way ahead and they have taken control of most of the Gym locations by now.

Well now that’s a huge bummer. I guess this gonna get trendy enough and slowly getting flat interest for casual player. Most of us want to try it because we have been playing Pokemon during our childhood.

Well it’s not hurt to try and join the fun while it lasted.

Thanks for answering. Cheers!

Well, I don’t know where you live. The situation could be different for your city. In my city, all the gyms were taken very quick. Now, I have to pay for coins because everyone is a high level BUT I will not.

Players beware.

Game is the bomb, im way above the age of a teenager but i see myself and my wife and other friends of mine loving this game. Our city square is full of pokestops with lures all day long , its crazy.

Im only level 10 though (i guess its not that bad) but we got a few people level 15 to 20 here. The game officially got released a few days ago although some people were playing it using the APK…

They need to git gud

it’s much, much easier to take over gyms than it is to defend them, so I can routinely take out gyms with pokemon about 30-40% weaker than the gym that I’m challenging. If you just throw bodies at the gym and use potions/revives, you’ll eventually cause the gym to lose enough reputation to take it over. Alternatively, if it’s your own team’s gym, it’ll eventually gain enough reputation for you to be able to add your own pokemon to the team. Each time one of your own pokemon is added to a gym’s roster you get 10 coins, and the cheapest item is 80 coins.

It’s definitely grindy though and is pretty bare-bones. You can’t trade pokemon, you can’t battle trainers you meet, and you can’t train your pokemon through battling. Not bad for a free game though. It can be quite enjoyable to play casually with a gf or a group of friends who don’t normally play games. I anticipate that the hardcore players will quickly surpass me in time and I’ll lose interest after that, so I advise anyone who is interested to start soon before everyone gets OP stuff.

They should’ve called this game Pokemon Natural Selection

This was bound to happen. Pokemon with certain “attributes” were eventually going to be found in certain locations that might create butthurt.

Yeah, several places have already asked people not to hunt due to disrespect, etc.

In Bosnia (and anywhere else which may have been in the wars lately) take this warning to heart.

Really watch where you’re going.

American person: “I captured Mew in Compton.”

Canadian person: “I captured Snorlax in Brooklyn.”

Japanese person: “I captured Zapdos in China.”

Bosnian person: “Boooring! I captured Mewtwo in a minefield. Come at me!”

Hi all, any one here?
I got i problem, i install Pokemon Go on my Android 6.0 phone. Everything is good, i reached level 20 but after the recent update i can’t log in my account (no sign of banning at all)

I intend to install on my PC with LINK REMOVED , is there any chance i can get my data back? It would be great loss if i can’t access my account anymore
I see some instruction on to lift the ban, is it possible?
