Population stuck at 500 v0.9.4

Pop is stuck between 498 and 500 for 15 years (currently year 50) despite constantly having ;

  • overall happiness >99%
  • at least 12 months of supply
  • more than 150 free housing spaces
  • Birth & immigration both always between 115-120%

Number of birth stagnating at 5, equal to natural deaths
Number of immigration stagnating at 0. Had 1 immigration “wave” of 7 guys in 15 years.

Read in the patch birth & immigration are supposed to be upped compared to previous patch but i did achieve >800 villagers in v0.9.0/v0.9.1 whereas here it’s simply impossible (game started on v0.9.4).
And given i didnt have a single death due to war (since warfare is broken easy now it seems) the birth & immigration are now way below earlier patches.

Check the default population setting, it was changed in the last patch from 1,000 to 500.

Ok thanks for the reply,
So there is a hard limit on pop set artificially to 500 (despite main goal of the game being directly measured by pop & pop growth) and absolutely no warning or pop up when we reach the settings limit.

That’s still a bug to me, or a lack of design at best (yeah yeah, “it’s feature”…). I Guess we’ll have to wait another 2 years to get that fix.

Not hard, just the default setting. You can make it unlimited if you want to or even smaller than 500.

The setting puts a hard limit, RIGHT ?
Why should i have to go and check the settings if you’re not giving any warning i should ? You go in every settings of every games you play every time you launch a game ?

Just add a stupid feedback on the GROWTH PANNEL (since that’s its reason to exist) and tell player who reached the limit - 5% there is a SETTING blocking growth at that setting’s value. Would take 5 minutes to add. Then test & roll it in next update (the one in 6 months, you know). So when a player starts to be pissed because not progressing anymore on a map, player will go to the growth panel and see that you put a hard limit by default for no reason on the very essence of what makes the game … A game.
