Port Valbury final boss barrier

Been farming the Vanquisher set, missing only the helm and been having an issue after the final boss fight. The crystals that lower once they die are still impassable despite visually not being there anymore.

Does not happen all the time, but pretty frequently. When it does happen, I have to leave the Throne Room and go back until I get the “Entering High Town” area transition text, go back into the Throne Room and only after that I can finally pass.

It’s like a 20 second workaround, but occasionally, I’ve had this exact bug happening with a couple of secret breakable walls too. And the same workaround works there too. Area transition (like porting to town and back), fixes it. But of course, would be optimal if it did not happen at all.

EDIT:
Aaaaand got the helm on the very run I took the screenshot from. Can’t make this up…

Shit resist rolls of course, but what can you do…

It’s an old random bug that happens in other places with destructible barriers.

A quicker method to remove the invisible barrier that usually works is spinning the camera around instead of running away and coming back.

The barrier in the FG temple right before the shrine (Tomb of Nephos) sometimes doesn’t go away with the weapon hit and I have to hold shift and smack it again. Is this the same kind of thing?

That sometimes works, sometimes not. Pretty inconsistent and in this case, does not help at all.

You either have to:

  1. Change area and come back
  2. Wait about 30 seconds. Seems like it sometimes takes the game a while to realize that the barrier is gone, but doesn’t update the collision checks. As I was posing for the screenshot in the OP, I could then walk through without issues.

And the bug was actually introduced in some patch. I have no idea which one, but I distinctly remember it started happening with the secret breakable walls at some point, while I never encountered it before that.

It’s random and has been around since breakable walls were introduced a long time ago. The one I always noticed it happen with is the wall behind a cabinet in the second floor of the Darkvale Gate area to the north near a few other small rooms. Terrible explanation, I know!

I’ve had this happen occasionally ever since I bought the game (early 2020 iirc). A fix would be nice

Pays to complain.
