I am currently on my second character, first one was an arcanist on softcore which I got to level 70 then got bored of the game. Now I am playing hardcore and am still quite interested at level 68 but after this play through I probably will just lose interest again. Basically I am suggesting that people should have the option to create their character without the ability to mod it/revive it/spawn items on it or anything and that it is public your character is nothing more than actually playing the game.
I’ve played path of exile for almost 3 years now and I have probably around 4000-5000 hours and the main thing that has kept me interested is competing on ladder. In order for this game to take the next step(for me and for others not interested in modding) I think a ladder system would be great. If not a ladder system than just the option to create your character in the above mentioned method.
I’m not sure of what the developers are planning so if this has been mentioned or is in the works well then I guess just disregard me.
Servers cost a lot to keep running, and a Buy To Play game like GD with an indie studio just can’t do it.
Yes PoE did it, but they had a huge KS, and survive off microtransactions. Crate has said there will be no in game store, and really there couldn’t be since modders will be able to make/copy just about anything they come up with.
It’s a trade off- you can either have modding which allows for theoretically unlimited content, or closed servers. Both is really hard, or expensive-- Who has actually pulled it off? Blizzard? A multi billion dollar company that started when there was really no competition out there.
As for respawn/item duping making the game boring, that’s something YOU control.
Im also a PoE player, and the ladder system is what makes me come back to playing it. I still haven’t reached max level in grim dawn, but I understand why you lost interest. Just imagining this game with an actual ladder and people in town trading, would probably make me play the game alot more
If you find fun in waving the e-penis, trading and economy, GD is the wrong place.
Once upon a time people found enjoyment in actually playing a game, rather than getting bored of it if there aren’t MMO add-ons.
From time to time i entirely deletes my Save folder data, that helps me to keep game just as fresh as I want. Im connection to this I also met few buddies in game, so whenever i say “hey I am starting new toon from scratch!” snd he isnt working on any specific builds he is there with me : ]
People seem to get bored all the time these days. My solution to that usually was to go do something else. Why does a game have to appease those who are easily bored? And why do people have no shame anymore about sinking multiple k’s of hours into a video game?
As an audience, do you realize how expensive you are? To support someone playing 5k hours who doesn’t pay for those 5k hours? You’re an extreme (an unhealthy extreme), go do something else instead of asking for people to cater games to you.
Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if adding ladders into the game would mess up the community.
i started my 2nd char now after it got so fucking boring running solo with my lowdps tankBM
i dont see anything of this great community, online is similar to a desert and 95% of People who join my hosted game just stay silent, sometimes a there is a “HI” (maybe they cant write…)
so what great community u are talking bout? no difference to d3 atm, well just even worse to get a party
In general, GD got a good gaming community. People are mostly helpful and polite enough, in a difference of many other games.
In particular, you can’t expect a great online community in a single player game. Forget about it.
People prefer to play either single, or with friends in locked games. The few public games consist mostly of retards, autistic dickheads, sociopaths and common morons. Stay away from these.
