What types of potions do people usually use? I know Rojal Jelly pots are pretty good, but is there anything else to be aware of?
depends on the situation and build needs
resist potions to help fix extra overcaps on celestials
ugdensalve for hp boost
royal jelly extract for hp boost
general utility stuff can be Hoarfrost freeze resist potion ex when fighting Mossi or other freeze bois and your freeze res is low
and hungerer oil from barrowholm/lifesteal oil for weapon attackers/builds with skills that have %weapon dmg and need extra leech
*regular royal jelly pots aren’t really that good unless you’re a regen build
**generally you shouldn’t concern yourself much about the potion craft/need, except for specific use cases, like Celestial fights, or the freeze res/lifesteal pot potential use
can be handy to use a resist pot etc that dropped if your res is low during levelling against a new boss you encounter, but generally should be simple enough to fix regular stat needs on items to not rely on elixirs during campaign

The potions you buy from Malmouth Resistance (Aetherial damage and Aether resist), Barrowholm (ADCtH) and Devil Crossing (Fumble/Impaired Aim debuff) are decent and barely cost you anything.
Others can be used for some tough encounters, but hardly justify the cost (maybe, aside from Hoarfrost one). Those +8% HP arent really much, and resist overcaps are usually much easier to get with gear/augments swap.
Strong builds dont need any potions, even without great gear.
