Last time I checked the actual Cadence hits did not proc wps, only the autoattacks in between cadence procs. Although we use it to replace auto attacks, it’s mechanics are a little different from the likes of fire strike and savagery and apparently it is not counted as an autoattack replacer, but as a proc evry 3rd hit.
I’ve heard that too, and I don’t have a Cadence build to test it. I just didn’t want to add more complexity to the equation for him. He’s already having a hard time getting everything straight.
Ok, I retested things, and I’m wrong here. This is what I discovered.
The proc does replace the attack. The damage of the proc is higher with Savagery than without. Storm spread was showing ~100% higher damage. I’m not sure how they interact exactly. Does Savagery’s damage apply to the weapon damage% of Storm spread, or the other way around?
As far as i know, “default attack replacer’s” Weapon Damage gets multiplied by WPS’s Weapon damage, while all other effects just sum up (flat damage added, etc) but dont get multiplied.
So are you saying Savagery and say, Storm Spread, add up? I’d think I would have seen high Storm Spread numbers if so, but I’m honestly not sure.
I was thinking that maybe the default attack gets applied to the weapon% on the proc, but then on Storm Spread, that might have been fairly small.
I definitely need to look at it more closely.
