The 1.2.1.6 change to Pulsing shard’s adding vit to aether conversion to Reap Spirit is lame as hell. It breaks fun alternative RS damage builds.
I like playing acid/poison (putrid necklace/venomancers raiment/ugdenbog pistol etc) and fire/burn (riftclaw slicer) and whatnot, but now the shard forces a break of synergy between the direct and DOT component (on a +crit damage item no less, smh). Did I say this is lame? Cos it is. As hell.

I am still playing 1.2.1.5 so I don’t have to deal with it, but there’s gonna come a point where I can’t avoid taking this disaster of a change. My therapist says I can’t keep living in denial forever, but he’s imaginary so I usually don’t listen to him. However with Fangs on the horizon I’m starting to think he might be right.
something seems off with this post, i think in my head and more accurately this is all capslock. the thought that the conversion was unnecessary and blocked other possible ones crossed my mind when we did the playtest but i hardly ever use pulsing shard so i thought there’d be a reason. anyone know why this was added?
the complaints during playtest was regarding AAR conversion iirc, which was removed
Reap Spirit changes i’m not sure if got brought up or if so with the same issue or explanation.
Additional effect could be endgame reap spirit wasn’t based off Pulsing Shard but other dedicated legends or Terrnox, or atleast "the good RE"builds, so something less or “not” utilized to same potential didn’t attract same attention
*or it was outright asked for to actually help make CD Aether RE better/a thing and i just forgot

Well the terrnox tome was/is “the aether RS offhand”. It has never tried to be vit. Ignoring funky builds, this change means there’s no vit RS offhand MI at all any more. So if that was the logic it’s {profanity}. If aether RS needed to be fixed, that fix belonged on Terrnox, not on Pulsing Shard.
Also, let’s not pretend like RS has a lot of MIs in the first place: it doesn’t.
The RS conversion on pulsing shard should be removed. Terrnox for low CD aether, shard for high CD vit+DOT. This leaves the added bonus of miscellaneous global conversion options for more creative builds.
if vit RE is the question that might be why it wasn’t given much attention in PTR, since endgame vit RE is Diviner offhand (with just the MH as being swapped between setups) in terms of “consideration” i’d guess,
and DoT specialist probably didnt’ get much notion or eyebrow raising (speculation, by CD DoT sentiments)
otherwise i’ve no clue why it has conversion too, if/when double present on terrnox,
but old PTR forum is still up Public Test Discussion - Crate Entertainment Forum so it’s possible to dig through posts to see if there was any direct outrage at the time, or lack of - and sometimes lack of comments on a change just means it goes through “then” until gets attention later
*i don’t know when “later” would be in terms of next PTR, since Z just said 1.2.2 “soon” a bit back 
I suspect that this is the case. Not many people go out thinking “i’m going to play through the game as Reap Spirit today” so an oversight of this type feels kinda likely actually.
