Pure Physical Warder: Cadence or Savagery?

I’m planning to build a full physical/internal trauma Warder. So far, I’m only L10 and have Savagery maxed; however, has Cadence been buffed enough as of yet to be an adequate skill? I wouldn’t mind trying it out, especially since I see Savagery not lasting me terribly long since I don’t plan to go bleed/lightning.

Also I’m a complete shitter at making builds so if someone wants to give me build advice, Devotion advice, or flat-out make a build for me, I’d greatly appreciate it.

Cadence is currently borderline OP for physical builds. If you’re going physical on a warder then Cadence is for you - Savagery is much more suited for lightning and bleed focused warders. Question though: Why warder over commando or witchblade?

Maybe he wants to go 2H melee. Jajaja made great guide for that long ago, just switch from savagery to cadence and you will be ok.

It’s not like Commando and Witchblade can’t go 2H melee. The thing is, there aren’t many great gear setups for 2h physical melee for any of Warder, Commando or Witchblade.

Agree, but its not that warder cant go S&B and be pretty much even with those two.

You’re not wrong, but you just posited that he might want to go 2H so I assumed you were arguing from THAT standpoint. If he DOES go S&B both Markovian’s and Warborn will serve him well, provided he can obtain them.

Its just that shaman has more support for 2H than other classes.
And if he goes S&B he can take soldier+anything and it will work nicely

Right, y’all, going 2H melee. I realized I didn’t have a barebones simple Physical meleeman so I figured I’d finally get around to making one. Savagery is currently melting everything though but I’m excited to try Cadence.

Also holy shit I didn’t expect to actually get responses so fast.

Both are true, though again, 2h physical is nowhere near as well supported as 2h lightning and 2h bleed for warders. Your choices for weapons as 2H are not good for physical focus. Something they should probably address at some time in the future.

Cadence’s third hit can do staggering amounts of damage, especially if Deadly Momentum is up. The catch is that you have to charge it up with 2 other hits that won’t really do much at all. Savagery is much more steady and reliable in its damage profile, but doesn’t offer breathtaking spikes of damage and doesn’t play nearly as well with physical.

Right. My first character waaaay back in beta was a 2H Cadence guy but it wasn’t much at that point. Been a while, though, so I was curious.

Is Forcewave any good?

Forcewave is hot garbage at the moment, for a number of reasons.

I also started warder through savagery but at some moment realized that it gives almost no synergy. Switched to Cadence and it gone very well.

Did everything to ultimate using mostly jaja’s build with some modifications to constellations skills and items (i have no Leviathan though had a lucky drop of Stonefist Rebuke at 58 lvl).
http://grimcalc.com/build/1007-QdRaMI - this and +4 to Soldiers skills. As you can see, Shaman gives only stats, hp, heal and Primal Bond, not much of synergy. At some moment I also used Briarthorn buff to OA and phys res but was annoyed to recast him as he started to die very often on ultimate and specced out.
Haven’t done Ult Log and Mad Queen yet as i quit playing cuz of getting bored but everything up to it was pretty smooth.
I use Forcewave only to proc Cleansing Waters of Ulo constellation when needed.
Something like ~30% phys res and absorb from Primal Bond + Wendigo Totem +15k hp make it tanky enough to facetank most bosses though sometimes you need to run when procced (i play HC).

Also some nasty trick with devotion points: don’t do any shrines in campaign mode, do some Crucibles to buy first 5 devotion points then back to campaign. It’ll fill your devotion tree to the end of Elite.
