[QOL] Semitransparent Map

you know Im playing the game for a while and when exploring the area im using the map frequently so i thought if map get transparent and you can have map screen while you are plying its quite Awesome it would be great if you consider to add it to future update.
sorry for poor english :o.

Has been suggested several times and so far hasn’t happened. Personally I hated it in D2 and wouldn’t want to have it that way. As an option maybe for people who do want it, but not as the only map as D2 had it. Ugh!

but it could be an option for those want a better Experience with exploring the area while they are looking for the way they want go:D

Which is what I said. :stuck_out_tongue: I think if the devs wanted it though, it would have been added by now.

Feedback from Crate, why it has not been implemented:

thank you that shined alot light on the topic:D

Hellu.

One thing that is really a bit annoying is that the map got a 100% opacity. Basically with the map open you cannot do anything.

I don’t like or use minimaps at the corner of the screen because… they are in the corner of the screen. That makes them useless for me. So I always use the big map to navigate.

It would be a really nice addition if the map only had outlines and icons on it and everything would be only semitransparent so you could still easily navigate with the map open. If that is too complicated, even a simple opacity slider for the already existing map would be more than welcomed.

Merged threads - please see my prior post.

That argument is poor imo.

I mean yes, there might be people who have less fun if they manually activate transparent map and then don’t realize that it is the reason for it.

But the “protection” of those people comes with downside that all the players who would like to use it because the game plays better for them with it suffer.

Personally I really love when a game has a good map built in and in some games it is absolutely essential for me. In Grim Dawn too, I am using it all the time anyway. A transparent map would definitely be a QOL change for me and not a “fun decreasing” change.

However, maybe a compromise could be to make it like an official downloadable mod, so there would not be an option built into the game, but people who specifically search for it could install and use it?

Also on that immersion part:

I believe immersion only works for a short amount of time. What makes you playing games longer than that is the gameplay. Atleast that is how it works for me.
