Question about counterstrike

ive checked the forums for this question, but I couldn’t find an answer.
Does having counterstrike on reduce my dps?:
Im heavily reliant on WPS skills and the dmg is so low from CS. Does counterstrike proccing actually take up an animation that would otherwise be one of my attacks?

It doesn’t take up an animation. It functions like a nova proc.
