Question about finishing veteran

So I killed Log last night on veteran for the first time and went back and talked to the Inquisitor and he gave me my first legendary and it was perfect for my build. I am a two handed ranged primal strike shaman/occultist and he gave me silverbolt. My question is whether he always gives a legendary and is it always tailored to your build or is it completely random and I just got some seriously good RNG?

Always a legendary and it’s random.

I think I heard it was a legendary if you are at least 50th level.

It will always be a Legendary or (I think) a Legendary blueprint, no matter what level you are.

Hey guys,

So finished veteran again with my multiplayer partner last night. Smashed through the bastion of chaos and found it easier than SoT but I think that might be because my chaos and aether resists were maxed whereas my resists for SoT were not good at all.

So I am just wondering if there is anything essential that needs to be completed before moving into elite or whether it is okay to just jump into it?

Nothing is “that” essential, however, you might want to get Devil’s Crossing and Outcast reputation to revered. Outcast is really easy, just do all Anatasia quests, you even get 1 legendary item at the end. Devil’s Crossing might take a while.

You can then buy some augments to power up your character before jumping into elite. Or you can farm BoC for a while to get some good items, but elite is definitely better to farm.

So it is worth buying augments early? Can you remove augments from gear? I mean if you buy an augment and put it on something and then you keep changing your gear, is that worth it? Or am I being too stingy about money and should be actively spending it?

Especially if the OP is running their first character and not getting faction bonuses, then it might not be much fun to grind faction to revered before heading to elite.

I try getting a couple of factions to honored (usually rovers and homestead, because they’re easy) before elite. That’s enough to get some resist / other help through augments.

I tend to want poison & acid, pierce, and bleed resists to be north of 50 when starting out elite and I’ll jigger gear around to make that happen. A good defensive ability total and a decent armor score is also desirable.

Finally, I buy augments freely and replace them whenever it seems helpful to do that. They’re not costly enough to hesitate about buying, in my experience.

YMMV about all of this, of course.

Augment cost 1-3k per piece of gear, they should not cause you any issue. You can easily get 60-90 extra resistances with augments, which would be quite useful since you get less resistance in elite. If you do not intend to change equipment right off the bat, augments are the best way to keep up with the penalty in elite.

Yes you can remove augments anytime you like
