Question about Reputation farming

Hello all!
I’ve been playing GD for quite a while now but only now I settled with a char (Warlord S&B). I’m now at lvl 48, on my way to Fort Ikon on my first play through (so on Normal difficulty yet).

My question is regarding reputation farming, should I stop the progression and farm some reputation or should I go on and farm it later on (Elite and Ultimate)? What made me questioning this was the “Ruined Shrine” in Asterkarn Valley - the one that require the Rhowari Legacy Quest from Amkala - that is available only once you reach Honored Status with Rovers.

It’s up to you, but bounties don’t really give that much rep. There are plenty of shrines in the game so missing that one won’t delay you much in getting your devotions. And you can always do it on Elite/Ultimate when you do have the necessary rep with the Rovers.

Only stop for reputation if you find it fun. If you’d rather raise difficulty - go on. Reputation carries over to next difficulties, so you won’t miss anything. Grim can be played in plenty of ways.

It depends, really. Generally there’s little to no reason to farm reputation on Normal because you get access to first two reputation tiers just by playing through, and that covers your needs up to level 70, by that time you should be done with Normal already. Bounties aren’t worth it on normal.

There are some exceptions, e.g. I prefer grinding Black Legion reputation by killing enemies in Malmouth rather than doing their Bounties on Elite, but that’s probably it.

Thank you all for your inputs!

Yeah, I felt the same, it would take too much time right now.

That’s a good advice, but on Normal it was little bit boring

Yeah, I would rather be killing enemies than doing bounties (especially on Normal).

There are some 500/1000 rep bounties, which is quite alot rep.

There are some bounties you should try to do, which are worthwile to look for, even if you have to relog to get them. They give from 500 up to 1000!
Some of them require crafting a relic, BUT nets you another rare material, so no real lost here. Other crafting bounties give you no rare material, so DONT do those.

There are some level depended augments which you want to have ASAP, lvl 70 base game factions and later lvl 90 expansion factions. I do this because i always end up to be around lvl 75 at the end of veteran full playthrough. So i have much more freedom of choice at the very start of Elite if i have access to ALL lvl 70 augments out there. THIS is the main reason for me to do rep farming from the start.

I will give you some examples which i do everytime.

Devil´s Crossing = Relic crafting (Calamitiy afaik)

Rovers = bounty to kill Zar…an (Steps of Torment)

Homestead = bounty to kill Ravna the Queen (beast are plenty)

Order of Death´s Vigil or Kymon´s Chosen = Relic crafting (Ruination afaik)

Black Legion and Outcast = Conflagration Runs (description below)

Conflagration Runs are really worth to do a couple of times. Let me explain.

There are 3 major bounty targets with high rep reward (500) and around 16 aether crystal to find there and some minor ones.

Before i start a Conflagration Run i gather all the following bounties, at least the big ones. (warning: target names can be spelled wrong)
Major ones

  1. Black Legion bounty kill Padmasteria or/and then Herald of Flames (last boss)
  2. Outcast bounty kill Lydia Starfire
    Minor ones
  3. Homestead bounty (10x aetherial vanguard or/and then 3x reanimators)
  4. Order of Death Vigil (10x aetherial vanguard or/and then 3x reanimators)

If i am lucky, and thats not rare, i can do those two Black Legion bounties in one Run = 1000 rep
BUT REMEMBER BEFORE YOU START AFTER GATHERING ALL BOUNTIES TO RELOG ONCE AGAIN TO GIVE YOU THE FULL POOL OF BOUNTIES SO YOU COULD HAVE A GOOD CHANCE YOU CAN DO SOME MORE IN THE SAME RUN.

I hope this can help
