Question about transferring a save file from an old version of game

Hello, I had been using a codex version of this game for a long time and then I decided to buy the game from. Gog.

My previous account was version 1.0.0.5 and had a level 44 socerer, and the version of the game I have brought is presumably the latest

Is there a way to transfer my save file of the socerer fro than version to the newest? I have tried copying save files but it doesn’t seem to recognize my chaarcter. Then I made a dummy account and replaced all the files inside it with my old account files but even than doesn’t seem to work, the game recognises my character by doesn’t load

Did you name your dummy character the exact same name as your old character? That usually works for me, although I’ve never tried with a character so old.

Oh, I’ll try… So you’re saying what should I do? Name the dummy character same and copy the files inside the dummys folder or copy and replace my characters save folder?

Actually I named the dummy character differently but when I copied all the files of my character into the dummy folder the name changed to the original name
