I’m using two ‘mythical blah blah rings’ that give ‘Judicator Seals’ set effect.
This set effect is described as ‘20 reduced target’s resistance for 2 seconds’.
There’s no explanation that how this effect is invoked but any kind of attack or spell would invoke or maybe proc I guess.
I was wondering how this effect works so I tried to attack and saw if this effect really works through ‘Grim Internals’ utility. I turned on the function that shows debuff list but the debuff of this ring set has not been shown.
I was playing retaliation warlord build but I think it’s not related to retaliation because the debuff has not been shown even when I did just basic weapon attack.
Judicator’s Seals…does this really works? Or Did I do something wrong?
Remember that it doesn’t work on the first hit but next hits in 2s period.
Also it scales with weapon damage. I was testing it on dummies a few weeks ago and it worked for me.
Did you use Grim internals also? If else, Pls let me know how you checked it.
Did it work when you hit through basic weapon attack? Or spell? Or both?
Of course I did several hits but it never worked…
And I don’t get that it scales with weapon damage. Are you really saying about ‘20 reduced target’s resistance for 2 sec’ of Judicator’s Seal? 20 is an absolute flat value and it’s about resistance, not damage. How does it work related to weapon damage? Could you give me an example of its mechanism?
I think Judicator’s Seal is very abnormal because there is a specific skill at the end of all other ‘X reduced target’s resistance for Y sec’.
For example, X reduced target’s resistance for Y sec on (specific skill).
But there’s no skill allocated to Judicator’s seal’s set effect and there’s even no condition to invoke.
If it was invoked with a basic attack, I think it was written like ‘100% on attack’.
I hope someone could explain how to check if it really works.
I’m not using it anymore though…
You need 100% weapon damage on a skill (look for the skill tooltip saying main hand and off hand) or a basic attack (this has 100% weapon damage as well) to apply it, with less than 100% weapon damage causing it to apply a weaker effect.
And like TQfan said, the hit that applies doesn’t benefit from it since it’s the one applying the debuff. Everything after is what benefits from it.
Here’s a video showing you, that it works properly. I have empty devotion so no Viper. I also don’t have anything with RR on my gear That conduit I wear is Acid Wind Devils from different tests. The yellow axe doesn’t have RR on it either.
It shows working with Basic Attack, in the past I successfully tested it with Aegis
Guardian aura’s sheet damage as shown in the video: 1132
Non-crit ticks are 1415 because the aura also reduced dummy’s resistance (from 0%) so
1132 x 125% = 1132 x 1.25 = 1415 ← checks out perfectly
Non-crit ticks after a hit that activate Judicator’s RR (which is 0.2) are 1641, let’s calculate it
1132 x (1 + 0.25 + 0.2) = 1641.4 ← matches test results
@Norzan has already explained but I’ll give you an example. If you only use Callidor’s Tempest with 60% weapon damage, the Resist Reduction is not 100% but 60% x 20 = 12 instead of the listed 20.
Well maybe it’s not shown, it’s not your usual proc but something resembling a stat more.
Similarly to Ultos (which is on a proc) vs Viper. Btw RR on a proc doesn’t scale with your weapon damage,
is always at 100% power whereas Viper, which is not on a proc, does.
Similarly to i.e. Scales of Ulcama vs Judicator’s.
::Sigh:: This stuff should probably be written with big red letters right in the middle of main menu: “X reduced resistances and X% reduced resistances display a broken shield icon above enemy, when applied”.
