Question re Oleron's Might

I.e. the skill from Oleron’s Blood

Before I waste the component…

  1. Is this a skill that needs to have its own keybinding?

  2. Does it only work with melee skills (where u whack enemies with a stick)?

I’ve seen some caster builds use it - I was surprised cos the skill description says “Strikes with your weapon…”.

  1. Yes

  2. Yes. Caster builds likely use it for the damage reduction part, that still works even if your melee hits pack the punch of a wet towel.

You can use it with ranged weapons

Thanks for both replies.

@Tomodak - your Dreeg’s Champion build was one of the builds I was thinking of - you use Oleron’s Blood on one of the weapons? Not sure I can see why.

2 reasons why

  1. Main reason is to apply high level % weapon damage dots. We have a nice chunk of flat poison on both weapons and this works out much better than shadow strike max. 16/16 SS with a vitrolic gallstone does do more damage, but not worth all the points.

  2. Even without Oleron’s Blood the build has enough sustain to tank anyone not named Mad Queen for the most part enabling us to get in extra auto attack damage. With the damage reduction we can easily tank everyone but her guaranteeing the auto damage

Ah. So it only applies when using SS - or auto-attack (weapon hits?) when tanking in melee range?

Sorry if I’m being dense - I’m still not clear if we need to actually USE this skill (keybind it and actually press the button to hit an enemy) - or is it sort of passive, does it just activate when we hit with SS / auto-attack?

You need to keybind it and use it manually.

Tomodak was talking about applying flat poison damage from the weapons (which are applied through evey skill with weapon damage). SS has higher weapon damage (when in ultimate levels though), meaning higher dot damage but Oleron’s Might while having less weapon damage, also reduces the target’s damage by 25%.

You do indeed have to bind and use it like any other cooldown-based skill. You can tell due to it having an energy cost and a recharge timer.
