Questions about item/skill effects

Hello everyone !

First thread for me on this amazing forum so I hope I won’t do anything wrong

My main wonderings are about some item/skill effects. I uploaded a screenshot to show examples.

First, I read on Grim Dawn wikies and threads that some effects (like the 45-69 Burn Damage over 3 seconds or the 10% chance of 37% slow target for 3 seconds) were only applied when the main weapon is used and others that were applied at anytime using the main attack or any skill (like the +24% fire damage). Is that correct or is this a little more complicated ?
If this is correct, does this also apply to the effects provided by items (such as amulets an armor) and devotion stars ? For instance, the second star of the tempest constellation grants 1-24 lightning damage. Does this apply on any skill or only for the main weapon attack ?

An other question… In which order are the attributes boosts apllied ? If I get a +30 spirit on a piece of armor and a +2% spirit on an other one, does the +30 apply before the +2% ?

Is there a thread or a website where I could find all these infos ? I hope I am not bringing dummy questions right here But all this would really help me building some of my character’s builds… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hoping I’ll get some answers, I wish you all a very happy new year !! And sorry for my poor english, Im from the french region of Switzerland

Flat damage (the burn and lightning you mentioned) is added to any attack that does weapon damage, multiplied by the amount of weapon damage itself. For instance, if you cast a purely magical spell, neither the burn nor lightning will be added. If you cast Dreeg’s Evil Eye with some points in the Blood Burst modifier, adding 10% weapon damage, you’d get 5-7 burn and 1-2 lightning.

This gets more awesome when using skills with over 100% weapon damage. For example, a fully maxed Cadence does 500% weapon damage, meaning all the flat damage you add (burn, lightning, the 16-23 physical from the base damage of Marauder’s Justice, and the 27 cold, and any other source from devotions and equipment) will be multiplied by 5!

% chance procs work on every ability, even ones that don’t do damage, that affect enemies. If you cast a debuff on enemies, you’ll get a 10% chance per enemy affected to slow it. Also, if the ability has a duration, there will be a recalculation every tick to apply your slow. In other words, you’ll soon start to notice that proc abilities go off constantly, and it’s glorious.

Flat attributes are added before percentage. This also applies to damage (if your 45-69 burn item is equipped, you’d do 90-138 with 100% increased burn damage).

Thanks Rylocke for all these clear informations !

That’s very helpful and it should help me for my next choices  !

Reaching end of Elite with my lvl70 Druid, I really needed to clarify those things before trying the Ultimate test and optimizing my build ^^
