Quick question: is it possible to roll high level affixes on lower level base items?

I have an Ascendant Hood with 920 armor which the base for a level 84 item but it has a level 94 requirement. Does this mean that the game can randomize high level affixes on lower level items?

Well, at character level 100 most monsters drop either lvl 84 or 94 version of an item. But yeah, if the base item is lvl 84 it can still roll with lvl 90+ affixes which raises it’s lvl req accordingly.

That’s why farming for some MI’s (weapons and armor specifically) can be a bitch…

I thought it was weird the low amount of armor on the item and that it was some sort of strange design decision. This item i have came with the Overseer’s prefix which has 4% DA and increases armor absorption by 30% so it’s probably still worth it?..

I mean, if you’re not obsessed about it like me and you don’t have anything better for that slot - sure, by all means use it.

The difference between 84 and 94 versions are not very drastic, not for “casual” play at least. For those of us who dive into “endgame” lvl 94 versions are a must I would say, so that we could get the maximum distance out of the build.
