I really don’t like that Quick Sell doesn’t affect the behaviour when interacting with Smuggler NPC’s. Please consider making it also apply to that UI (Right Click moves items to/from what you’re interacting with instead of equipping/consuming).
I’m also not at all a fan of the Auto Sort randomly choosing how to sort things, especially when Confirmation is enabled. My suggestion for this is to make it cycle through the sorting variants consistently and to employ one or more of these suggestions:
For those with Confirmation enabled mention the Sorting Method in the Confirmation prompt as a drop-down menu and let us choose how we want things to be sorted (remember our selection).
Make it an option in the options UI (once method is chosen it’s only one or two clicks to sort the desired way in the future).
Right-clicking Auto-Sort button changes the sorting method and left clicking the button applies it (needs some visual indicator).
Thank you,
There are 4 variants of sorting and clicking the Auto Sort button will randomly choose one to apply:
Vertical (forwards)
Vertical (backwards)
Horizontal (forwards)
Horizontal (backwards)

Edit: it’s either cycling through sorting methods randomly or in a set pattern, either way any of the 3 suggestions would be a nice improvement (especially the 2nd and 3rd ideas).
I agree with both. Don’t care whether key scheme from merchant or smuggler wins, but it should be consistent in both windows.
Several times I tried using a component with right-click while at a merchant only to accidentally sell it instead.
I’ve taken screenshots of the main inventory with each press of the button to map out the sequence of events, not only was it random but it can even repeat it self (obvious when you’ve made no change to the contents of your inventory) and seemingly have no effect when clicked when that happens (makes you think you misclicked).
I did not extend this testing to the Smuggler stash (yet). I wonder if any mods like Grimtools change the behaviour? I’m not using any mods, not even cosmetic mods (so far).
I guess I should point out I’m also playing the 64bit release of the game. Maybe there’s a code function they’re using that behaves differently in 64bit.
Edit: Regardless of it being random or not, it would be fantastic to reduce the number of clicks required to apply the method you want. I’ve added a 3rd solution to this to my original post.
