Raider-Death-Trap

My experiences tell me that raider always prioritize der storage house and the trading post.
On the way to this target they attack/destroy and kill alot.
I wonder if they mysteriously know if a trading post and a storage house is EMPTY…
If not I think about a deathtrap that minimizes my investment in tower/walls/barracks/population.
In the direction where raider usually come from I build a walled square with an empty storage house and an empty trading post and tower (amount depending on progression).
So when the raider come they head directly to the trap and get killed without threatening anything of my city.

actual city (highest difficulty, pop 270, just turned T4) has normal protection. surrounded by stone wall and 10 tower along, 4 guarding my inner area (storage house and trading post surrounded by stone walls).
I need so many people for defense. I have 14 upgraded tower (= 28 guards) and 8 soldiers (only used for emergancy (so not been used yet)).

I think I try my death-trap-idea. it would be close to exploit but as long the raider are meaningless and unnecessary hardship I am fine with handling it exploitish

It looks nice, but you will get an issue when you’re population gets interest in the death trap and store all the previous goods over their.

At what point can you build a second trading post?

I find the raiders go to where your key resources are stored. Things like the trading post, storehouses, and vaults are all prime targets. They will also attack the town hall. Lesser targets appear to be foundries and stockyards.

Which sucks because my hunters and fishing area was raid and they destroyed the root cellar, because no one had food I decided to put it in, and all the hard to build housing for that are. Rotten labours and builders just did not want to go out into the boonies  .

yeah, forget this. It was a bad idea and it’s not possible to build a second townhall or trading post.

I’ll stick to my successful castle-turtle-tactic:
put trading post, warehouse and barracs at a good spot together and border it with walls. put enough tower in it.
Until Tier4 they never ever even manage to break in. Some loss due killed villagers or destroyed buildings cannot always be avoided

Their spies are everywhere. Somehow they know how much you have and demand a tribute proportionally. They somehow know your population size is and thus send a raid size that matches 20-25% of your pop. Spies are everywhere!! They know where your stuff is for sure.
