Raiders have super powers? can do damage miles away and even on the other side of maountains

while my village is down south of the map, raiders attack always from all the way up north.
so as an experiment i tried to block their way in with the result that

1. they are blocked …
2. even being blocked, they still manage to destroy buildings etc. in the city down south or across the block / mountain
