Re-purpose grazing land?

I just noticed that after x years of a Barn using land for grazing it becomes very fertile. Leaves a nice fertile square that looks ideal place to plant a couple of crop fields. Has anyone tried moving the grazing land and planting crops on these areas?

Don’t see why you couldn’t since you can graze cattle on your crop fields to get the same sort of thing.

Brilliant did not know that, I have some fields near my Barns, will move the grazing areas there and plant crops on the old areas.
Edit Food is my main issue so everything I can do to increase supply is good.

Note that the cattle will eat any crops planted there so probably best just to plant clover while they’re grazing.

Pasture area (15x15) is larger than current Max Farm field area (10x10).

You can plant a single 10x10 Farm field or cut it up into smaller fields.

If you do cut it up, remember to always leave at least one empty space between your fields to prevent your farmers from glitching on orders, missing plantings and harvesting, causing you to lose crops to field rot.

Cattle pasture and Farm fields are no longer equal in size, as such fencing requirements generally preclude the effective co-use of arable land.

Dedicating farmers and fields to clover more than doubles the labor for cattle without any beneficial effect to birthrates, food stocks or production.

Feeding cattle fodder, clover, summer milking and winter feed stocks, for the tiny increase in fertility you get each year is a luxury most villages cannot afford.

Unless you have a permanent excess of labor, it would be unwise to dedicate so many to so little.
