REAL beginner builds HERE

Ok guys. This forum seems to be completely disconnected from reality.

There seems to have been a large influx of players lately due to PoE and D3 sucking, and the sweet new expansion coming out.

Now a lot of people are asking for some fun, non gear reliant builds, but all anyone suggests is shit that takes you 800h to farm for

We need lvl1 to lvl100 on self found gear. Post them up

ps. there was a user here (x1x1x1x2 i believe) that posted his journey from 1-100 doing a purifier and broke it down for people… very cool. (cant find it to plug it in here)

I will do one for a retaliation conjurer if no one beats me to it.
Which is pretty easy since it’s my only char since FG and I am still lvl 56 :stuck_out_tongue:

But if everyone needs an extremely safe build that can do everything with the gear you find by leveling, feel free to jump in blind-ish:
-: make a conjurer
-: max grasping vines and entangling vines
-: look for retaliation gear (shield is your main source of retaliation). The common suffixe you are looking for is “of Thorns”
-: do whatever, this is not a full guide and conjurer makes everything work. But for the record, Vines are my only attack and only the caster bosses are a bit long to kill.

Look in this thread http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79419 under “Builds for beginners”

You are the one who is disconnected with reality, there is already a thread where the builds you are asking for are collected.

Also, I do not think people like to help out when the first thing you write is pretty insulting (we write on this forum on our free-time you know, we do not get paid by Crate lol)

Again, you are the one who has lost connection with reality. The reality is that there are plenty of beginner builds posted here already. You were just too lazy and ignorant on how to find them

Tell us what kinda style suits,so we can help you choose build.http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81737 You can look in this thread for leveling tips.

you mean the 9 builds for eight combinations or so, of which 7 are using AoM masteries (btw, welcome to GD balance and variety, wulfnuts), which are about major versions and 1 expansion out of date, which coincidentally heavily nerfed the base skills (sometimes even the attainable/faction gear) that these beginne guides/builds relied on?

Let’s try caster elementalist and warlock for starters. complete with clear times and all. Then we can do some warders.

http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74454 <- for x1x1x1x2’s 1-100 purifier

I personally played a clean stash reset recipes death knight ( http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74487 ), and for the most part it felt like a beginner trap. Sure it is tanky, and gets one from 1-100 deathless with a few close calls (if you dont go out of your way to find trouble), with skeletons through normal, and cadence from act 2 elite to the rest of ult, but the clear speed is slow, and getting the krieg set still means that you need a mindwarp to use it effectively, or a different mythical legendary set to upgrade your physical power, or a setup of AoM components and item affix rolls to meet your stat checks as physical krieg dk.

One thing to note is that you are probably better off with the bysmiel veiled pendant than with the empowered essence of beronath as the latter has been nerfed since the time the build was made.

Loss of reality?
How is a Beginner interested in clear times?

The majority fo Beginners, if they want any help at all, will ask for a build that finishes campaign with perhaps Lokarr.

They are still good for first “real” character, they might not do shattered realm 65 but you can do decent end-game farming with them PLUS you will learn things about the game in the process of playing them.

Dude, it looks to me that you are complaining about the endless time we have spent on making those build guides? How many beginner build guides have you contributed with? Oh wait I know, ZERO. It is persons like you that at least makes me pretty reluctant in making beginner guides in the first place.

Haha stop trolling. caster elementalist, warlocks, warders… what are you smoking?

It is persons like you that at least makes me pretty reluctant in making beginner guides in the first place.

Don´t listen your guides are fine.

And for real beginners Warder e. g. is a nice straightforward build which allows to play most of content which beginners will play at first.

I have a draft of Warder for beginners, with pretty detailed leveling guide. Problem is that I have like 6 more guides to make, plus updating 4-5 of the old ones. I basically have no time to play my own shit and all I can read is complaints. It is really frustrating

Are you new to forums? :stuck_out_tongue:

You are a teacher like myself; how many pupils thank you directly for what you teached them (immediately after you gave a lesson)? Not many, but there are some who do this and some won´t tell you but think so. And the others…well, can´t save everyone.

You guys get thanked for teaching? o_0

Yes, always on the end of a month when we get our loan paycheck and sometimes even from pupils.

Wow, I envy you :open_mouth:

I am assuming by loan you mean paycheck?

Ermm…embarrasing…yeah, bad englisch…:o

Hey, I am much worse with other languages :stuck_out_tongue:

But in school I get payed in money and can drink as much coffee as I want

Haha yeah I sometimes get thanks from students especially after tests and grades like I had a girl student that kissed me on the cheek right before the Xmas break. She had struggle with math her entire life and when she got me as teacher things started to clear up for her. So wtf Grim Dawn noobs where are my kisses?!?!!?!? :furious:

I suppose beginners would open a newer Compendium since it is a newer one and the only one for FG era.

I can suggest in the FG compendium that newer players should look in the AoM compendium for now.

Lmao. OP needs to be less salty and be more reasonable.

Yes. There are a limited number of beginner builds because not all inherent class combinations can excel at taking on the endgame with self-found items at a level which rivals polished builds.

Because resistance is so integral to the game, beginner combinations will most often include the soldier &/or occultist.

That’s just how the cookie crumbles. You need to understand that beginner builds are essentially launch pads used to farm shiny new toys

EDIT: @mala

I’ll break down the “real” reality of the “Beginner Guide” situation:

Writing/creating in-depth beginner “leveling/build” guides is a massive undertaking. Screenshots need to be made/edited. The guide will likely be “link-heavy”, referencing GrimTools and the wiki. For anyone to take your guide seriously it also needs to be organized in a somewhat “professional” manner, it needs to be easy to read and reference. It needs to be apparent that you put alot of time in to considering the “flow” of your guide. Grim Dawn is a huge game with a massive amount of variables that need to be considered and talked about in any guide for beginners.

This is why Beginner Guides are rare. They take much more work than a guide that assumes you might know wtf you are doing… and even some of those guides get rather large as-is.

With that said… the OP is more than free to attempt to churn them out.
