Reasonably powerful builds

You are welcome!

I tried to tell them that they are welcome to have their own opinions and play the game the way they like it.
But those people just loathe every opinion that is not similar to theirs. At least this brings up some juicy discussions!

Yeah! I’m happy too.

Thanks! Grim Dawn brings me a lot of fun these days

Unfortunately I forgot to include BWC like korsar intended… I’m still learning

Please consider http://www.grimtools.com/calc/q2MMO142 instead

Yeah, not missing flat RR seems good

Hey Zhuugus, I have a build that can clear Gladiator in less than 30 mins. This might be worth testing to see if you can add this to your list. Here’s the link: http://grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65552

For a new player (not actually new but I don’t have gear) would your recommend aether deathknight or your own battlemage build?

I saw both used the krieg set but I was wondering which one would be easier to get to a strong level without much gear to start with.

Deathknight all the way. Strong Battlemage gears don’t really exist until level 94, synergies are also bad. With Deathknight you can make a decent physical based one at low levels until you reach 94 and switch gear.

Sure, I’ll test it. Put it into my queue of builds for testing.

I like my own battlemage a lot, but I must agree with actuanpanda here: death knight is easier to level up, especially for a new player.

Obviously Elementalist could use some love…not a single one :frowning:
Where does it fall down? Survivability?

Never saw a strong AoM elementalist.
I’ve been given advice to check this one:
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47324&highlight=elementalist

It is heavily outdated, even uses grimcalc instead of grimtools. So it’s a lot of work to update it for AoM and then to test. And I don’t even know if it’s gonna be worth it. May do this later, now I have some builds to test that actually have evidence of their strength.

Awfull OA/DA for Elementalist unless he stack Savagery. And mines are inconviniet at best>_>

What would be the build with the lowest gear requirement of those on the list? I mean the build that would be able to function at a good level even without full BiS.

It’s very hard to say, actually, and it often depends on what items you’ve got. Some builds have more gear options and arent tied to particular set or item (like my build), but EVERY build will scale a lot with gear, so you shouldnt expect a build geared mostly in vendor stuff, to feel strong and powerful in AoM ultimate or Crucible.

I was unhappy with my warder, so I decided to try the forcewave build.

With the 2 tips at the end of the post, I can solo 100-150 in about 25min with subpar gear and minimal tanking.

Thank you for taking the time for writing this post! Helped me out so much!!

I totally agree with what MortalKombat said.
Witchblade is probably the best option. There are 4 very strong witchblades presented in my initial post, all absolutely different (2 melee, 2 casters). So you can always respec some points and make yourself a different one, depending on playstyle and items you’ve found. You can start with forcewave witchblade by MortalKombat, very strong and easy to play.

You are welcome! Always glad to hear that my posts help someone.

First off thanks for all of this work Zhuugus. Now I have a question related to number 15 in the list the S&B physical witchblade. I noticed that 3 of the constellations have no abilities bound to them? Is the intentional? Or am I simply blind in finding the answer to this possibly silly question? Anyways thanks for your time.

It was an oversight. When I’ve changed the build I posted the new tree after making manual changes on Grim Tools, and I simply forgot to bind these 3 celestial powers, but you can bind them to any free permanent buff, like in this example: http://www.grimtools.com/calc/4ZDO33kV

Now with the new crucible out, you’re gonna be very busy with testing every build in this thread. That’s a lot with 38 builds all in all. Excited to see how the changes in crucible will change the contents of the list.

Thanks Eddie, also thanks for updating this for AoM.

You’re welcome! The author just forgot. I see he already answered you.

Here I go, on my way to drown in testing

Goodluck. Half of the builds here might not even make it. This list is gonna shrink.
