Reasonably powerful builds

I would argue, that fire or elemental forcewave do more damage. Tooltip may higher, true, but enemy resists to those damage types are higher as well.

Also, if you dont want to push many buttons, better go for Death Knight - he has passive ability for resist reduction, and dont have any buff, that has to be reapplied every ~15 seconds (like BoD from Occultist).

I tested those myself in 150-170: physical, elemental and fire forcewave tacticians.
While physical and elemental are close (17 vs 16min), fire obviously does more damage and thus clears in 13 min average.
Still all are great.

Death Knight doesn’t have additional resists + healing skill though like witchblade or tactician. But the upside for DK is Krieg set (which is goooood) - it is farmed from exact bosses so it takes less time to assemble compared to those that drop randomly anywhere.

Since it’s quiet before the storm, I started an absolutely fresh char - with zero items in both stashes. Times when aspirant cricible is hard. Feelsgoodman

Hey guys

I’m finally getting internet in my new house today…

Haven’t played in quite a long time

Can you tell me which build is the most balanced OP and Lazy atm?

I prefer dual wield toons

Yup I"m not ashamed of having an easier time. I have to farm everything again damn

Hey

None of DW builds are even close to OP or lazy. I’ve played dozens and dozens of various builds and from my experienca casters and tanks are way easier both to play and to assemble than any dw build.

Look my post #796 in this thread, some useful info there. Probably the easiest start has soldier with 2h transmuted forcewave (combines well with occultist and death knight because they have physical RR and inquisitor - because it’s a incredibly strong mastery in general). Not only 2h forcewave is a beast itself, you can very soon get Kraken devotion for +170% all damage, which is absolutely insane in the beginning, all dw builds at the start of the game will feel cripples compared to that. Even if you do not go for forcewave, leveling with a two-hander with Kraken will still probably be easier than any dw.

Ah yes, I will level with some cheap spam skill. Tried to level as dw in the past. Insta regret lol

Zhuugus,

You changed up THT’s warlock build by taking away 19 points from his devotions. However, the setup that you suggest does not work, because you have to leave 15 blue points to keep dying god. Unless I’m missing something, maybe your devotion change was on a previous patch? Any suggestions now?

I’m really trying to make the warlock build work, and appreciate all your insight on the other builds I have tried from you.

Thanks in advance.

Hey

I don’t get it.
Are you sure you’re talking about exactly warlock? There is only one warlock from THT in my thread, it is build 5 in caster section in builds for 100-150.
This one: https://www.grimtools.com/calc/m23nXl1N
I don’t have my version of it, it is THT’s original version and it does have 18 blue affinity points.

Then, there is CABALIST from THT, it is build 12 in caster section in builds for 150-170. There nor THT nor me don’t use Dying god.

So plase tell me what build are you talking about, what’s its number. Also give a link to it please.

Zhuugus,

Sorry if my post was confusing. I am speaking to build 5. I am asking how you reconfigured the devotions. Originally, the devotions that THT had have 18 blue points. You say to take away 19 points with your described changes, but then the picks you say to take are not possible, because that would leave only 14 points in blue, which is not allowed due to having the dying god (needs 15 blue). I switched it up by just changing around the crossroads, but I think your recommendations you make for a change on devotions do not work.

Sorry if I’m missing something. I really appreciate your insight.

Now I get it!
I actually do have my version of it, forgot to give a link. Here you are:

I must warn you that this is a old build, from autumn 2017 and there are better options now. However, I have a strong feeling that new sets, coming in the nearest patch can help this a lot, so new updated version may become pretty good.

Entirely different approach, pretty promising.

Hey guys!

Looking for a relatively lazy build which can get through the game without problems with only self-found leveling gear

Advices for this? I’m open for any class/combination

Edit: I think I will play my Level 35 Witchblade again.

Will later aim for this build:

  1. S&B physical cadence witchblade by Eddie_Alucard

Any advices for the leveling progress and Devotions?!

Atm I’m specced max. Blade Arc/Lacerate/Oleron’s Rage/Curse of Frailty

Zhuugus - Thanks, that helps a lot. Warlock is my only level 100 so far, and is my first hero ever. I’m trying to make it work, and these builds are much better than what I started out with myself. Appreciate all your time and dedication to this post.

Hi!
Probably the easiest start has soldier with 2h transmuted forcewave (combines well with occultist and death knight because they have physical RR and inquisitor - because it’s a incredibly strong mastery in general). Not only 2h forcewave is a beast itself, you can very soon get Kraken devotion for +170% all damage, which is absolutely insane in the beginning. Even if you do not go for forcewave, leveling with a two-hander with Kraken is good.

Check this MortalKombat’s thread:
www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64706

You can go for witchblade as he did, go for tactician version which is more suited for tanking (and in late game you’ll have options to switch into fire or elemental forcewave that do more damage).
Also you can do it as a Death Knight, then you’ll have an option to get Krieg Set (very easy to farm since every piece drops from exact boss) and go for s&b aether krieg build which is pretty versatile and strong.

So check out MortalKombat’s thread and builds 3 and 5 in “tanks” section.

This is my own DK, started with zero items in both stashes, was able to beat 150 waves of aspirant crucible:

You’re welcome!

Re: your comment on Warpfire nerfs. It sucks. I think the weapon has been nerfed too hard. But I don’t think it really affects builds so much that it would reduce cleartimes by 2 mins or more. We can opt not to use Blazing Inferno and instead get full torch to get 100% duration. It can be done now since we’re not so tight on devo points anymore and we can afford to spend less points on defense. Still haven’t tried my sorc and m rune purifier yet but I have confidence that they’re fine

EDIT: My bad, Burn duration node on torch is in the main branch leading to meteors, so I agree more on your point now.

Question for the Crucible enthusiasts - where do the healers in Wave 161 spawn? I went out for a spin pressing my luck on the new waves, and I thought I heard upper right, but when I tried it, I saw plant names. I was in the Sands, if the positions are different with each level.

Plant adds + healers + Alex = really bad time, I thought I found a safe haven under the arch and was starting to whittle down the healers finally, but Alex killed me. With what, I don’t know, it wasn’t the meteor, though.

On Sands and Grove, left side. On all the others, upper right.

I hate Sands and Grove for that particular reason.

Also, I don’t know if there’s RR besides the meteor in that wave but sometimes Alex just gets a lucky shotgun (on that attack that goes outwards) if he blinks directly on top of you and you don’t notice. Most of the time it isn’t really a big deal, and it’s a bigger deal in 161 compared to 160, 165 and 170 So there is a high probability that there’s another mob that does RR there.

Yep, I can confirm that my bleed warder (loosely based on the Chinese build) no longer works in crucible. I’m sad because I loved to play that one…

Yeah, Warpfire+node from torch is roughly 170% duration. Probably not enough.
Testing, testing, all needs testing.

I’m with you, man - I really hate wave 161 sometimes.

Thought so.
Now we have to build bleed warder as it supposed to be - a DoT caster. Soldier and Shaman still have a ton of bleed support.
Mythical Butcher of Burrwitch as a weapon, shield, 3,7-3,9k DA, Bloodrager’s set. You can take ideas from DW bleed trickster (build 9 in DW section), I’ve just adapted it.
Or you can look at bleed witchblade (build 5 in caster section).
