Reducing Shelter Stocking Time?

I want to be able to create a kind of forward camp around a few ore deposits far from my town proper. However, any buildings I create there, like a tower to protect the area, are pretty much rendered useless because the people assigned to the building will go all the way back to the town to gather stuff for their buildings/shelter. Is there any way to assign, say, a stockhouse to always make sure to have a certain amount of something in stock? Or, is there another way to decrease restocking time? Without being able to make a forward camp I can’t get any of the ore I need for the late game, and the area just got demolished because all of the guards I had assigned to towers in the area were off in the center of the main city collecting resources for their shelter. I feel like I’m not utilizing something I should be utilizing, because once a building is a certain distance from the center of the city it basically becomes useless due to the time it takes to move items.

The wagons should supply the shelters with supplies and gather the resources from the mines and advance workplace(not sure of the name in English, the building to harvest stone/wood) to deposits
