Does that 86% Damage Reflect means that I only recieve 14% of total dmg taken ? Or do I still recieve the reflected dmg ?
If Reflect acted like effective damage reduction it would be so screamingly OP as to boggle the mind. I had a Lich’s ring and no, it did not reduce incoming damage except insofar as my attackers died faster.
You’ll notice skills like Mirror of Ereoctes and Blade Barrier has 2 actions; reflecting damage and absorbing damage. That is because reflect does not reduce incoming damage.
You still take the full damage. Thank god it doesn’t actually reduce damage because it would be like the Elder Scrolls Oblivion reflect damage. Which was broken as shit.
Not as broken as Chameleon and item enchanting with BSGs. Armor? Who needs armor?
So Damage Absorbtion is what I need if want to reduce the dmg taken.
So 20% Damage Abs would reduce total dmg taken by 20% right ?
And is dmg abs a stat u can find on items/compos/augments/etc ?
100% Reflect damage and 100% Reflect Spell in Oblivion pretty much made you invincible since neither physical or magic damage can hurt you. And it was extremely easy to do.
With Spellmaker? I don’t think you could enchant both onto equipment, even with BSGs. Also I could have sworn it was actually a huge pain to find the Reflect Spell magic in the first place, whereas with Chameleon all you had to do was find a pretty easy-to-find guidestone. I know there were some spell effects that were significantly harder to find than others.
There’s several unique items with reflect damage and reflect spell that are pretty easy to find. A lot of them have like 35% Reflect Damage alone like Amulet of Axes, Necklace of Swords and Ring of the Iron Fist. Reflect Spell has like Mundane Ring, Spell Breaker shield and Ring of Sunfire.
Of course you have to be level +25 to get the max stats, which was stupid.
