Hi,how to translate the whole mod with custom rainbow file enable ? And I already had the vanilla games translation file Text_ZH.arc . Please show me the easier way that what i have to do .thank you !
Translate the following file, compress it into text_zh.arc, and place it in grimarillion\resources\ to localize it.
grimaril94a_engtext_for_translate.zip (403.3 KB)
Explanation:
Grimarillion has a Text_en.arc available, so translate that first. However, Grimarillion has conversation and quest texts, so those also need to be translated. If you want to rainbowize, translate the rainbow file for Grimarillion.
But since those texts are embedded in scripts, the texts must be extracted from them. There is a “qst/cnv extraction tool” for this purpose. As you probably know, this is a tool that was recently uploaded to the forum and is useful for easily converting qst/cnv to text.
Once the required texts have been translated, they must be converted to text_xx.arc. This “xx” is the local abbreviation. In your case it will be text_zh.arc. Of the text, put the conversations and quests in the root, and put the text_en.arc part of the mod in the grimarillion. Then zip it, drag and drop it into “GDArcZip”, convert it to an arc, and you are done. Good luck!
Yes.i do want the rainbowize translation and place preffix on front of the itemname.then place the suffix after the itemname.what should i do ?
As you mention some text of conversation and quest from Grimarillion embedded in scripts. where can i get that? Once i have that translated.Should i put them back to the grimarillion folder ? i dont quite understand.please list more details or steps.thank you again.
Texts are colorized by attaching the code {^r} {^g} {^y}…
The file I have attached has a number of colors specified by such codes. In particular, the affixes are defined in the item-related texts. So, if you translate the attached files, you will naturally get a colorized translation.
Conversations and quests can be easily extracted by using Extraction Tool, as I mentioned before, which is a UI application and easy to operate. Grimarillion’s conversations and quests are in the attachment, so you can translate them. Conversation and quest texts must be placed at the root. You can see it in the attachment.
Anyway, translate the attached file, make it into text_zh.arc, and put it in the Grimarillion resources folder. Then you will see how the colorization is done. If you compare the attached file with the original English text using the comparison tool WinMerge (free software), you will see how it is coded.
Once i have the Conversation and quest texts from your attachment which outside the grimarillion folder translated .then place them to the path like
Grim Dawn\settings\Text_**\ right ? Do i need to make them into arc file ?
and i found Grim Dawn\settings\Text_zh\bq_bl03.txt had already translated
and the text are same as your attachment’s bq_bl03.txt
Hi, can somebody tell me the prefix name for “corpse explosion” (modifier of grim scythe, D3 necro). So, what’s happening is, I’ve been trying to farm a medal called “Mark of Nacrathan”. It’s an MI, which Nacrathan (in “lost tomb of the damned”) drops. Grimtools, says that the item has 2 modifiers for corpse explosion: +3 levels to corpse explosion and another modifier: 100% aether damage converted to cold damage to corpse explosion. According to grimtools, these 2 mods should be on the medal, but I’ve farmed around 30 of these, so far, but none of them have mods for corpse explosion. Although, they do have mods for other D3 masteries, especially “Ice armor (Wizard)”. So, I’m now starting to believe that modifiers for corpse explosion will only be there if the item has the right prefix name, however, here’s the thing grimtools does not mention the prefix name for corpse explosion, so I don’t even know if corpse explosion even has a prefix name or not!? Cuz it’s a modifier, so no idea at all. So, if anyone knows how to farm this particular medal more efficiently, then please guide me, thanks!
SETTINGS? I never said anything about that. Translate the file I attached and compress it into an arc with its structure intact. Then put it on Grimarillion’s resources folder (Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods\grimarillion\resources). It should line up with text_en.arc, text_zh.arc. That’s all you have to do.
If you have a settings folder, the files in it have top priority. So, if there are files that interfere with the mod, disable them.
Is this what you want?
Yes, that’s exactly! How did you get this!?
Edit: hold on it says 100% aether converted to cold to “grim scythe”, but that should be corpse explosion!?
Wait… can these modifiers differ too!?
Edit 2: I don’t need the damage conversion for grim scythe tbh, cuz the transmuter for grim scythe already converts aether into cold, but I was looking for this medal cuz of dmg conversion for corpse explosion
So if the item has dmg conversion for grim scythe only, then I think I’d have to drop it
@ASYLUM101 - are you getting any reports of random crashes? For the most part, I get them during area switching. But now I’m getting them so frequently I’m afraid to start playing. I posted some hardware-related settings here: Infrequent crashes when switching areas.
While I’m playing on Linux, the same crashes are happening on Win11 as well. I’m not sure when this started, certainly don’t remember anything this bad when I first tried out the mod.
your attachment structure like below:
Part 1 :
grimaril94a_engtext_for_translate\text_xx\grimarillion{tags_xxx.txt,tag_xxx2.txt…}
Part 2:
grimaril94a_engtext_for_translate\text_xx{bq_bl03.txt,hideoutcookconv.txt,npc_xxx.txt,object_xxx.txt…}
How i do is :
1.Have the Part 1 translated then use the Grim Dawn\ArchiveTool.exe to compact it to the Text_ZH.arc then place to the Grim Dawn\mods\grimarillion\resources\
2.Delete the whole folder Grim Dawn\settings
3.Use ArchiveTool.exe to extract my currently localize file Grim Dawn\resources\Text_ZH.arc
4.Translate the Part 2 then override files which Step 3 extracted
5.Use ArchiveTool.exe to compact files of Step 4 into the new Text_ZH.arc
6.Replace the old Grim Dawn\resources\Text_ZH.arc with the new one
Am i right ?
1.3.4.5… Why make it so complicated?
As I wrote before, you translate the file I attached and zip it as is. Then, you convert it into an arc with the Extraction Tool. Then put the resulting text_zh.arc in Grimarillion resources. That’s all you need to do.
Do not separate the attached files. Zip the whole file with the structure as it is!
Just to be sure:
- There is no need to delete it. It is better to rename it to something like “settings_zh” so that it can be easily reverted. However, if you are coloring the base game in this settings folder, you must leave texts about it.
- No. Grim Dawn\resources\Text_ZH.arc should not be deleted or replaced. That’s the base game text, and if you erase it, the texts in the game will be full of holes; the mod texts are what were changed or added to them as a basis. Grimarillion’s localization is done in grimarillion\resource\text_ze.arc.
Hi, can someone also tell me where can I find death maidens? I assume these are D3 characters, and they have an MI that I’m looking in particular: " Death Maiden’s Scythe". Also this item says that it converts 100% aether damage into cold damage to spectral wrath, and also provides -15% cold RR (to spectral wrath), but does it actually or not? Because I do have a death maiden’s scythe equipped, but the tooltip does not mention that it provides -15% cold RR.
Like for instance, I used to use an amulet: Death-Watcher Pendant, that grants 15% health restored to “call of the grave” (GD necro mastery skill) and also provides 80% increased aether dmg to “call of the grave”, now equipping this amulet always displayed the skill modifiers on skill’s tooltip, but here this death maiden scythe does not mention -15% cold RR, which is quite necessary for me.
Tho, I can confirm that other modifers for spectral wrath are being applied like flat cold dmg, along with 100% aether dmg conversion into cold is also there, but for me -15% cold RR is not there, for some reason…
So, please tell me the location of these death maidens, cuz grimtools shows that the item is their MI, but it doesn’t show their spawn location.
Also, I’m hoping if anyone could guide me about the medal that I talked about above ( Mark of Nacrathan), like how can I farm it? Do corpse explosion modifiers depend on a prefix name? @Matougi mentioned a medal, and it has +3 levels to corpse explosion, but not the “100% aether converted to cold to corpse explosion, which I need”.
Thank you
你好像是个中国玩家,因为你举例用的是text_zh.arc
这个MOD,虽然tt300在3DM发布了汉化版,但是翻译质量不如以前,你如果能更精细化的翻译,那会更好。@tt300正在找想投入翻译grim dawn mods的人才,你如果有意向投入到mod翻译中来,可以过来QQ群313356067,我们会指导你
下面我简单说一下步骤:
第一步、解包text_en.arc,翻译里面所有内容。
第二步、使用对话、任务提取工具,把所有任务和对话提取到一个地方,翻译里面的所有内容。
第三步、把翻译后的对话、任务内容和翻译后的en内容,统一打包为放在text_zh.arc放在mod的resources目录下。
The following is a translation of the above content
You seem to be a Chinese player because you are using text_zh. arc
This mod, although @tt300 released a Chinese version in 3DM, the translation quality is not as good as before. If you can translate it more finely, it will be better. @tt300 is looking for talent who wants to translate grim dawn mods. If you are interested, you can come to QQ group 313356067 and we will guide you.
Here are some simple steps:
The first step is to unpack text_en .arc and translate everything inside.
The second step is to use the conversation and task extraction tool to extract all tasks and conversations into one place and translate all the content in it.
The third step is to package the translated dialogue, task content and translated en content into text_zh .arc and put it in the resources directory of the mod
No one has reported having serious issues with crashes in awhile. And there is nothing I can do about it even if they are - your hardware data is useless to me. It’s not like the mod rewrites or alters the game code.
My suggestions are:
- Assuming you have all the DLC sans Crucible, make sure your game is fully up to date. Older versions are more crash prone as the mod is updated with newer versions, so older versions will likely just crash upon reading newer, unsupported data.
- Make sure the mod is fully up to date. Goes without saying but I still have to.
- If you’re playing the x86 version, try the x64 version instead.
- Ingame, check the auto-item tool tips option. Turn it off and see if that helps.
- If you have grimmest enabled at all - turn it off.
If you look at the codex ingame you can scroll down to the Grimarillion section to find some info:
Thanks for the quick reply. I absolutely love this mod, so I’m determined to make it work for me. My first test yesterday was to remove the Rainbow filter, which seemed to have made a difference. I’m already running X64 w/Grimmest off and have all of the DLCs updated. I’ll try disabling the tool-tip as well.
oh my God, thank you so much!!! That’s all I had to do…
but please correct this, cuz these medals say: 100% aether dmg converted to cold to grim scythe, when in reality, it’s applied to corpse explosion and not grim scythe.
Also, the death maiden’s scythe, says that all modifiers are applied to “spectral wrath” (in grim tools), when in reality, the scythe I have says: bonuses are applied to spectral binding, when they are being applied to spectral wrath
It’s a bit confusing…
but other than that, thanks a lot!!! I have spent over 3 days farming for this necklace lol… Thank you
Blame crate, that’s not my problem.
uhhhh… ok?
i know.but the Extraction Tool you mentioned is not use to convert the arc file but to extract the .qsv and .cnv file
which extracted from Conversations.arc and Quests.arc by using Grim Dawn\ArchiveTool.exe
This is the only question that confuses me.i thought ArchiveTool.exe is used to make the arc file.is it ?
