Wouldnt you agree that the game is long past the point where makes sense that the PC needs to collect 3 pieces of a single Scavenged plating to make 1? Where you need 5000+ scavenged platings to craft a single good pair of boots - that means you need 15000 partial pieces of plating
Seriously the amount of clicks you need to make just to collect all the junk make my hand tendoms suffer a lot (not joking here).
Proposal is to entirely scrap the drop of Partial components then instead only Complete should drop, maybe at a more reduced rate vs how currently partials are.
Same should be applied to the Crafting of components - What is the damn point to spread the cost of 1 component over 4 crafts? That is a complete waste of the players time as it requires zero whatever apart from patience to put up with such design. Hence 95% resort to just spawning thousands of each mat and dont deal with all that crap.
Fixing it can be a bit of a hassle though, as loot tables need to be adjusted across the game. Perhaps the simplest solution is enabling auto-pickup for components, so we no longer have to pick them up manually at least.
I see the reason to keep high-level components fractured, such as Seal of the Skies: they give obvious advantages and should be hard to get, but still usable even if player crafts 1 fragment.

I remember times when crafting one shard of Beronath required 96 chipped claws. Every time I crafted one I felt like I`m doing something wrong with my life
The less time we spend on crafting mandatory stuff the better. I don’t see any reason to craft 1/4 and spend 5 extra clicks instead of crafting the whole thing.
The Oleron’s Blood change was one of the best crafting changes ever made alongside the changes to things like Living Armour.
I do think components should drop in full as just about no one is going to use a partial component on their gear At the same time, I think it’s too late to make the switch for Grim Dawn as it would require a lot of work rebalancing drop rates, there have already been several patches since the game was out of Early Access that increase the chances of things like Ectoplasms, Chipped Claws etc. that I don’t think they want to start from scratch. There’s also always the argument that their time is better spent elsewhere.
Something like this I think is what they would do for a sequel or Grim Dawn 2.
We are way past the point where removing partial components is worth doing for the amount of effort it would take. Component drops are so ingrained in everything, it would be a colossal undertaking for very minimal return.
