Reputation on Normal

You say it hics up the pacing, but we already have that kind of pacing with homestead, malmouth, coven, DV/KC, your chosen cult and Black Legion. Even without going out of your way once, those reps hit honored/revered instantly without doing anything extra. Just following the main campaign, often well before you’ve even finished their main quests.

As it is, this is a bad part of the pacing, not a good part. Those 6 factions have good to too fast pacing (holmstead and Coven are a bit too fast, while malmouth is perfect) pacing, while rovers, DC, barrowholm and the other 2 cults have trash pacing and they need to be brought up to match the others. The easiest solution here is to do a flat 50% buff to rep with honored offering a 100% buff (50+50) like they did in the community league (they just added 100 from the start I believe and removed writs all together though, while nerfing mandates to 50%) and a mandate still offering 150% (50+100)

The hard way is to go through and add more quest rep baseline, as well as adding rover’s quest rep to the SoT precursor quest, which currently doesn’t give any rep other than the kills on the way to complete it.

There were options based on it. I was replying as I read. Do you have that run on video …

Oh, you already said why. You did SoT twice, which shouldn’t be a requirement. If you are farming gear with that character, then of course, go into SoT, but in normal, it offers no other benifit.

You essentially did 2 full runs through an extra undead area, 3 large areas more than most people will ever enter if they don’t need anything from that dungeon. And the rep for that faction, shouldn’t be based on farming that dungeon.

i already said, multiple times, there was no farming, there was a re-entry into SoT, because you get a 2nd quest later that sends you there, but it was already honoured before that

that is also why i mentioned backcounting the rep in the prior post to account for the writ’s bonus effect post Honoured status in Black Sepulcher, since now having the writ boosted the rep from Mog quest etc

One quest, everyone does, but that still doesn’t give you rovers rep other than the kills, and it only gets you to the dungeon, not heading inside.

The other is an outcast quest? Why would you ever side with the outcast? So you’re saying that if you want rovers rep, you should always side with the outcast because it forces you to go into SoT?

i side with the outcast because i do everything, i dont’ skip stuff, lore etc, get access to her shop etc
and it was still honoured before that quest

I do bounties on both to push to honored (but rovers it doesn’t better, with the other cults, it helps) before going into ultimate usually. Bounty rep on normal does suck, but it’s better than nothing and faster than doing multiple dungeon runs.

With Dreeg is the selected cult, ToH didn’t get me honored without bounties, but I wasn’t using any MIs for these playthoughs that come from A7, so that is likely why. The other cults need a bit of a buff because of this, but not too much of one.

cool, and like i said, if you’ve skipped content so you didn’t get it naturally via kill/clears, then it should be the expectation to make up for it
the time you saved not clearing the SoT quest you’re now spending doing a couple bounties to get honoured

and i wasn’t farming items either i’ve already said,
and still got the 2 non sided cults up by end of main quest/before ToH quest

Bounties could solve some of these problems, but Barrowholm’s bounties are … not the best, but I do usually do them because of how far their rep is behind. If the hearts quest unlocked before honored, it would be a lot better due to it giving quite a bit of rep, but you usually have to go back to normal to do it.

Bounties are usually too little too late.

i am not remotely arguing anything Barrowholm here, i’ve already stipulated they are as bad if not worse than DC
I think some of their bounties are fine, it’s then once again the vanilla bounty system holding them back because of reset and cap, so the “trifecta” is just in effect there holding barrow rep back on top

2 full SoT runs, which means 3 extra totems, 5 extra bosses and a ton of extra elites that no one else is doing unless you are doing a completion playthrough for no purpose. Rep should not be based on that, and with the good factions, it’s not.

I always kill outcast because it’s better for farming MIs to have her as a boss to kill.

Not to mention hastening Black Legion rep and eventual access to Mankind’s Vigil.

her MIs are worthless on Normal imo (legs only nice for endgame, outcast helm gated of to Ult exclusive), and augs/armours are useful during levelling

iirc, you only lose liek 1k rep total, which is 1 bounty on Ult

A choice of killing outcast v siding with the outcast shouldn’t affect rover’s rep for most playthoughts. It should get you there faster, but it shouldn’t be a requirement.

Skipped content, means following an option they give you, shouldn’t be what the game is balanced on.

i was honoured before the quest  i think i’ve said that like 5x now? - i was honoured in Necropolis running the Black Sepulcher devo

Poison/pierce and aether/chaos rep are both really nice to have.

Not to mention the MI pants you get from here and having a ‘dangerous zone’ with the atherials who drop ascended gear.

Every little bit counts lol. Also it seems that even though you disparaged her pants, I am almost always using them when I get them — at least for a time – because of resistances.

Legs are nice early game and the dungeon she opens has ascended/flesh gear like the shoulders, helms and chests, which are good on most builds.

you can use them sure, but you have access to superior, imo, in solael/dreeg (regen vs lifesteal) - for levelling purposes that is ofc

which you still have access to aplenty elsewhere, so nothing unique for me, at most slight sped up for farming purposes, but like i said, no farming on Normal/Veteran
