Request: Benefits of choosing a single master.

Greetings, has long been playing with pure masteries and have concluded it is quite profitable to choose a second mastery only by the contribution of attributes when the level up of the second mastery independently the new skills available. For that reason I would like to make a request to developers to reward players who want to focus on a single mastery.

My idea of this new system is that when we have the option to choose the second mastery (level 8 I think) exist the option to choose an improved version mastery that currently carry. This “enhanced” Mastery can have the same bar where you can invest skill points gained that give us more attributes and at the same time when we increase the level, we can unlock some passives that affecting the abilities of the first mastery chosen.

For example a passive for Summon familiar skill to increase a little his life and when increase the level it gives us the option of having extra invocations of this skill. Very useful if we want potentiate a pet build using only the mastery of the occultist. Thanks for your attention.

The 2nd Mastery becomes available at level 10.

This is just how this game works. You could probably do something like what you want by modding.

In your specific example, Shaman adds a lot to pet builds. Why wouldn’t you want to use it?

This horse is LONG dead. Please stop hitting it.

I know the game mechanics. I played TQ in his time and with Grim Dawn I have around 560 hours played. The main function of choose an “enhanced” Mastery is benefits of attribute points that we would have to choose a second mastery. In that case, we don´t have more skills, I think it would be nice a small profit for the skills of the mastery and make it equally viable to characters that choose two masteries and can choose more variety of skills.

Shaman mastery is good for pet builds. With the system I propose we have more variety for creating these builds, Without being bound to choose the Shaman mastery.

Dark. This just isn’t going to happen. Bring it up again when they announce the expansion pack. It’s not happening in vanilla GD.

They’re not just going to drop it in randomly, they’d have to make sure it is implemented in a way that feels somewhat good.

I tried to think of a way to do something like this and a bit more complex, but it’s still in planning phase… it’s quite a lot of work to do with the limited modding tools we have.

It’s pretty much a given that they’re working on an expansion pack, if only at the initial brainstorming stages. They needn’t announce it for a player to give suggestions that would only make it in an expansion pack.

I guess they could do something like multiclassing in other RPGs. You get some stats when investing in a mastery, but you get diminished stats when you choose your second mastery.
E.g. soldier mastery gives 2PHY/lvl when used on its own, 1.5 when used together with a cunning dominant mastery and 1 when used with a caster; and apply this retroactively. Overall you shouldn’t gain the same amount of points from single mastery, because you’re left with more to invest in skills, so single mastery should still come with some penalty.
Just a rough idea of something that might work, I’m not saying it should be exactly like this.

How about this:

You lock yourself to 1 class, you get double the stat gains from mastery points. And all your skills are more effective with that class, like maybe all your skills have 15%-20% higher base values or something. And maybe some other quirks thrown in, maybe some more skill branches or abilities as well. The single focus nightblade class is an entirely different class from the version that can be multiclassed. You’d be picking a “master” version of the class.
