Requesting new biomes

I enjoy the different maps but they all inevitably feel the same. I would enjoy trying to survive and build on an island or nearer the equator. I’d like some more varied wildlife to hunt, and be hunted by, as well as domesticate.

A couple of island seeds.

The FF wiki also has a breakdown of how the biomes are generated so you could have a look at that and play around with it.

For fun try putting your birth date into the game and see what it rolls. Then reverse it and see how different the map is then.

Agreed. There should be an Iceland like or tropical island map/biome, perhaps with a DLC?
Something where you either land per ship or shipwreck, then have to manage with the limited resources there and can only trade per ship.
Needless to say, the maritime aspect needs to be expanded upon, with fishing boats, maybe whaling ships, seaweed and clam harvesters etc.
Attacks come in form of pirates/ sea raiders.

you know you want it too!

I’ve had the idea before of remixes of the game set in different regions, with all different building looks, some different buildings, different resources and uses, different foods, etc.
Some ideas were middle eastern/north african, west asian, and central american.

Would make a dreamy DLC! That is, after the Maritime Expansion DLC comes out! Fingers crossed

Would love to see maps that are either coastal or dominated by a major water feature like a river or a delta or a side-long sea. The lakes and ponds currently leave a lot to be desired.

I would love a large island map with oceans all around. Question for you, what are the chances we might see bridges and platforms in the future? I like a good archipelago or large lakes map but without the ability to cross that water or utilize it, it truly is a waste of space. I imagine these things would be resource heavy (logs and planks), but it would be a great way to utilize the dead space water provides. I don’t imagine this would be available before T3 or even 4, as it would be game breaking to just overload on fish to satisfy food requirements and all others are just for kicks. I would happily accept using this in T3 as settlements start getting quite big and demanding by then. Thoughts?

Similar to Cities Skylines? With different map packs as dlc’s or community mods?

Stone bridges are already in the game, came with full release.

As for islands there have been a few seeds over the years that have been islands or almost so, but every patch seems to change seeds so the only one I know of atm that’s a large penisula is this one - Idyllic Valley large map.

Also this one is still an island iirc.

Thanks. I saw the stone bridges. I was hoping for something a little more usable. I was hoping for wooden bridges that can upgrade as stone is typically far less available and wooden platforms that can be built upon. I think it would be really cool to have a township on stilts that sits above the water between two land settlements and provides fish, crab, kelp, etc. Water has tons of resources. It seems a waste to only fish it. Might be a neat expansion one day.

No, I was thinking similar to Transport Tycoon Deluxe
