it makes GD stashing builds faster. Instead of taking hours filling up pages and pages to get a 99.9% perfect rolled weapon you just give yourself a few thousand rerolls worth of mats and spam the button.
What great devs crate are; even making cheating in their game better.
11/10. I really need to start forcing more of my friends to play this game.
I don’t like to get into such topics, but after the words:
I just realized that no one who wrote in the topic (except for a few people) has no clue about how the seed and RNG works.
For example, let’s take a random wep. I want to get Relentless Dermapteran Slicer of the Slayer.
First, we’d roll a base:
3 separate rolled values.
Then we’ll roll for prefix and suffix:
normalPrefixRareSuffix
rareBothPrefixSuffix
rarePrefixNormalSuffix
3 possible combo.
Then we’ll roll which prefix and suffix we’ll get:
1/46 and 1/54 for each combo.
Ok, we rolled the Relentless prefix
5 separate values.
…and the of the Slayer suffix:
4 separate values.
Now tell me: how much time and machine resources will it take to:
Yep, that’s what I thought the moment I saw the system and that’s without even knowing if Crate assigned weights to affixes. It might not be as simple as a 1/x roll.
But it’s the whole “change” thing.
rerolling seed doesn’t change prefix/suffix interaction, so step 2 is just entirely cut out
you’re rerolling all stats in 1 interaction,
and that’s assuming the “target stat” interaction wasn’t misunderstood (some seem to think we get to cherrypick which stat line to roll as i read it)
*that’s not to say people probably aren’t vastly underestimating potential RNG involved in the reroll mechanic, but as i’m seeing it you’re also overestimating the interaction(s)
so the step is either,
already have affixed item you’re satisfied with, reroll that until further satisfied (seed) - have fun rolling through millions of seeds with stats going randomly up down
*assuming actual target stat line isn’t possible
don’t have double affixes item you want, reroll 1 affix (why do we bother rerolling 2 affixes, probably faster to farm 1 useable first), then do the seed reroll
so that’s “just” a first 1:54 rng, with follow up 1:xxxx seed rng
**again assuming we even got the reroll mechanic understood correct at all
it’s not just about the reroll mech, but about getting the gear in general, including
GDStash “crafts” items using this exact system and game mech. You can’t craft 99.9% perfect rolled
anything, even if you skip a few steps.
i mean, it should
you can literally do this already, and it definitely seem faster, even if not providing a better overview (stash search for high stat values) - stash a zillion lotus/essence go reroll set pieces at the inventor at the click of a button/faster than spawning pages in GDstash
downside ofc being(potentially) if it’s like current, you lose ex blacksmith bonus when you reroll a seed at the inventor, “peak” gdstash potential might not want that so there tab crafting is better
*that’s atleast how i read it, stash the mats to use reroll mech, then it will be faster than manual gdstashing
**and if target stat line rerolling is indeed a feature/possible, then yea obviously, since you select one, and just roll through 1:4-1:100 clicks per line and complete done
but better yet, once we do get items with them 99.9% rolls, we can literally just copy the seed/make a XY item seed list (since same seed on different items doesn’t result in same stats, besides 0seed)
so this feature might even improve gdstashing too
Many of us are do and are making lighthearted jokes. Would you like me to explain the concept of a joke to you since you obviously didn’t get it?
Demonstrably wrong. Ceno and someone else found a perfect silverbolt seed.
It’s worth noting, however, that Silverbolt is the opportune item for “crafting” perfection, as it uniquely has the least number of variable values. It’s not impossible that the number of permutations of some other item may exceed the maximum number of seeds, in which case a “perfect” version of that item may not exist.
We’re speaking in hypotheticals, though. So far, despite waning attempts here and there, no one has perfectly deciphered a means to engineer an item to-specification from its seed alone.
To combat the power creep, Z & Co. is kind enough to also provide us with a new difficulty.
This, but unironically.
To combat power creep Zantai is banning grimtools
I think it would be an easy on a more season oriented, competitive game. As of right now, the game is designed and balanced around single player.
If you decide to optimize your way into making the game unfun, it’s your choice
