Retaliation builds blah - no good

Cyclone set looks sweet, new retaliation set is whatever, can’t say anything before I see how retaliation builds work in FG. Skins are just borrowed from existing legendaries, which I don’t exactly mind.

Overall, a misadventure with almost no content and relevant information about the release date this close to release is disappointing to a lot of GD fans.

They are working their asses off, why this rush?

I am not rushing anyone (nor am I in a position to do so). I am just saying that this Misadventure is disappointing to a lot of fans.

It’s like “OH BOY I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A NEW RETALIATION SET” - said noone ever.

That said, it’s just a Misadventure, not a patch or an actual expansion, so most fans weren’t expecting much.

Says you. Pretty sure a lot of people want more retaliation support and i can see people excited for this because of retaliation to attack.

Why are people so obssessed with a trailer? It’s not like it will make the xpac be released any sooner than when it’s ready.

You don’t speak for me, nor anyone else on this forum, cupcake.

shhhhhhhhh

Pretty sure I am correct when I say that retaliation builds are the least popular ones and just a minority of players plays them.

@Belzak tell that to a discord full of angry Russians (many of which are frequent posters on this forum). I mean you can just say that I don’t speak for you, no need to draw conclusions if you don’t know what you are talking about.

And? You are also talking about NOW, not the future. Because it’s quite common for people to ask to make retal better. So no, you are not talking for everyone.

You and your little group of friends are not the center of the world.

I predict there will be many people having a different outlook on retaliation when it comes to Oathkeeper. OK retal builds aren’t necessarily about standing around with your thumb up yer bum anymore, they get a lil more “involved” now. Hell, just looking at Zantai’s screenies in the OP should be a huge tip-off to that.

Pre-FG testing: I didn’t care one whit for boring-ass retal builds.
Post-FG testing: Looks like I have all the fucks to give for retaliation now. Crazy… but true.

I frequent these forums and of all the threads in Ideas and Feedback I almost never see retaliation threads. Same goes to builds, I think I saw one AOM retaliation build posted there.

I have no stake in this really, all I said is that this GM was lackluster and retaliation stuff is not what most players want. It is funny tho that like 4 Praetorians were unleashed at me like a pack of dogs, lol.

Well, we will be able to tell how viable retal builds are only when we test it, right? Right now it looks like it looks, sorry.

The only disappointing comment I have seen so far is yours :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you make a public opinion poll ?

The amount of spoilers that have been in Streams alone, there’s only so much that can be shown without it being too much spoiling. They are giving the GT too, after this it’s items GT as well and there you go…games launches after that…

you already did the math?

it’s really strange to be W/E at a new mechanic you haven’t tried, instead of looking forward to something completely new that is a potentially a game changer for retal. Why not just wait for it… For me personally this was one of the new things i was most excited about aside from OK and lore stuff

Then you and I are seeing very different things. Quite obvious things that if I had no Oathkeeper knowledge and what was being done with retaliation, would have made me pause and set my mind turning at the implications.

You do realize that we read the Misadventures as well as everyone else right? Alot of times some of the stuff they show in the Misadventures we might be seeing for the first time same as everyone else.

More like you started to claim things that you have absolutely no evidence of. Some posters here even contradict your statement of people “not wanting a new retal set”.

Also, are we still using the “it’s not posted in the build forum, therefore it doesn’t exist” nonsense? This is no proof that people don’t play a specific build type.

Your opinion is valued and I agree that current Retaliation in Grim Dawn is rather niche.

Hopefully this perspective will change for many upon release of Forgotten Gods.

Woof!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah Praetorians are evil , that 's why i didn’t join em. Who am i kidding Crate just didn’t want me .

An oppressive poster that gets oppressive responses and then complains about the response is a hypocrite that probably won’t get any sympathy :stuck_out_tongue:

The forums probably are not an accurate representation of the player base and what builds are being played by the playerbase as a whole. A lot of builds are crucible benchmarked when in reality that isn’t the most popular game mode (and practically any build/skill can succeed in main campaign).

I said it based on Russian GD discord where quite a few players and prominent builders dwell. It’s also common sense: retaliation builds are the least popular ones so it’s not hard to deduce that very few players are excited about retaliation stuff.

But again, I don’t expect every Misadventure to be mindblowing, it’s just a Misadventure.

I would love to be excited about it as soon as I see it properly working, man. I am all for it!

Aren’t you like testing the new stuff tho?

Not everyone uses GDStash to edit in and instantly see everything, nor grimtools to spoil themselves. There’s more to testing than looking at numbers.

We’ve been testing since what, around last August? For a lot of this time we’ve been getting FG in piecemeal doses. Large amounts of FG weren’t available even to us for alot of this time because Crate was still working on making it.

Just because we might be testing it doesn’t mean we have everything.
