Anyone know if retaliation damage can crit? And on the other hand, can it miss?
I’m not talking about proc retaliation (which behaves just like any proc), but straight retaliation damage from gear; I’m wondering if it’s worth raising OA on such characters.
Also, will they gain damage/duration bonuses from spirit or cunning?

I’m pretty sure they can’t crit, but I might be wrong on that. And I’ve encountered strange instances where enemies hit me, but weren’t damaged by retaliation(with my retaliation build, any trash hitting me gets one-shot so that’s how I know).
Somewhat-on-topic question to add on: Does + All Damage add to Retaliation damage?
Retaliation Damage cannot crit.
Retaliation Damage cannot miss.
Retaliation Damage cannot be blocked.
If a monster misses you due to your DA, retaliation damage is not getting procced.
If a monster hits you and you block, retaliation damage is getting procced.
Retaliation Damage is not directly affected by any character stat or duration affixes on gear.
Retaliation Damage is only affected by +% retaliation damage (not affected by +% all damage).
If you plan on playing retaliation i highly suggest MRGA.

This explains a lot since most retaliation builds have high DA so trash only has ~70% chance to hit you… if they miss, they don’t die.
